Game Updates - Direct Download

How will updates be made available for those who have not bought the game via Steam, will there be any ingame prompts about updates, will there be an updater or will you have to re-download the entire archive everytime ?

Like the old kerbal space program you used to be able to launch the game from a launcher and updated from there would be nice if they could possibly include that with the sequel

This also interests me. I hope I will not have to download the whole thing for every update.

I came here to the forums looking for an answer on this same topic! Curious how update's will work with Direct Download editions and hoping we get some patches rolling in soon with all of the bugs and et cetera. To be fair, this is early access after all but I do think that this is going to be soooooooo good when the developers get most of the release bugs ironed out and some quality of life improvements implemented

Perhaps, in style with the UI, we'll be able to dial into a BBS and suck down a multipart .rar that contains a patch.exe which will make our virus detection software go ape**** XD

 

In a week or two, when the next patch hits, we'll know.
