Well since i couldnt find any mod that either A) worked like i want it too or didnt have a threat of tearing your ship apart, i'm now in the process of making my own mod

will continue to post updates on how its progress is going

Before you get too carried away with making them work, could we perhaps have the .craft? I'd really like to set them up and see if I can't get a passable DHD made up for my colonies.

Would it be possible to simulate vortex effect by adding animation of an engine firing? SRB produces big enough plume. Wouldn't be perfect replica, but still nice effect

I'll see what i can do, but this is the first time i've ever attempted messing around with code/modeling, so i'm still trying to learn how everthing works

Actually, Stargates have 9 chevrons. 6 for co-ordinates, 1 for point of origin, 1 for intergalactic area code, and 1 for a disappointing spin-off.

What spin-off? Destiny barely had enough Stargate in it to qualify as an AU - with boring crew, crappy ship, pathetic space battles and waaaay too much messing with timeline. There were only two good things in that abomination - Destiny shuttles and Kinos. Ummm...sorry for off-topic. Mere mention about Destiny raises my blood pressure.
