VTOL Scout/Rover Taxi?

Howdy!

I don't know if something like this exists, if so I cannot find it. I'm not sure if parts exist to build it (which I probably couldn't do anyway)

I'm looking for a scout craft, a plane that can travel through the atmosphere as well as a vacuum, mainly to act as an advance scout, scoping out a landing sight or narrowing down anomaly locations. Once found, it can land and lower a ramp that an unmanned rover drives out of to look around in more detail.

I'd be interested to see how you strap your rover down for flight, I can imagine it'd get jostled about quite a bit. That's probably a good job for quantum struts!

I also don't know of any "ramps" or anything deployable like that, but I also use the mod KAS, which could just winch the rover back into the belly of the craft.

Now I'm thinking about this... it'd be pretty fun to design something. Maybe I'll try and tackle just an atmospheric rover taxi... I'm not THAT good at the game yet haha

This might turn into a kethane gathering plane. I haven't figured out a good way to get that stuff without just "driving" a slow and flippy rover there.

I typically dock my rovers though I am a fan of the Quantum Strut gun. :-) KAS is amazing. I'm still learning about it but I see its potential.

The only ramps I've found are the tail section versions in the B9 pack, but I'm hoping to find something smaller.

The Mk. 4 Fuselage system has a pair of massive ramps.

Also, the Weyland Pegasus Shuttle has a central cargo bay with a platform that lowers from the bottom. It's also an insanely OP vehicle and will fly in atmosphere and vaccuum no problem.
