The new probe cores...

The new probe cores are heavier and eat more electricity... but do they provide torque in proportion (compared to the old pods) to their increased resource consumption?

Ney, at least on their specs torque is the same as the probes.

As far as I know, they're just command probe modules that actually fit into the rocket stack without looking totally and completely out of place like the old ones.

judging by the specs, it is just like the large ASAS vs. the small. may look better, but provides no added value to redeem the cost.

Well except for the better structural integrity of your rocket and the ability to fit within the standart rocketparts. Also I hear somewhere that they have SAS integrated?

As far as I see, they had a bit larger battery and also (unlike probes) they perfect for building unmanned rockets and modules .

When they were KSPX parts, I wound up editing them so that the 1m one had the turning torque of the Mk 1 Pod, and the larger one had the turning torque of the Landercan. I may wind up doing that again.

Tested the large one this morning.

With 3 Rocko X200-32, and ASAS, this probe was absolutely unable to stay in position, except with the RCS.

New or old, you have to pile the cores on to get any stability... they don't have that much control authority.

Every capsule has an integrated SAS...

nope, they all have 0.5 rotPower. I would have expected something more.
