hiya, new here. But just wondering has anyone gotten this far up?

I've gotten to around 25K Km before I gave up. Funny, though, I didn't know about hitting 'T' to keep the SAS running, so I was holding 'F' the entire hour and 45 minutes.

lol, I did the same thing before learning about 'T'.

Oh dammit, I have always been holding down F...

I had a rocket that was cruising at 2000m/s after escaping the Kerballian gravity. I then proceeded to take a nap. Which turned into an 8 hour sleep (for future reference, naps at 2am have a tendency to become 8 hour sleeps). When I woke up, my rocket was at 66894K and counting, T +09:34:23.

  • 3 weeks later...

My best was just over 12 hours.

Speed was 24,567 m/s, distance was just over 1.1 Million km..

I noticed it is able to go into the billions.. I am tempted to load this into one of my other computers and let it fly for a month.

Going to try to break my previous best.

Current speed: 36,636 m/s, distance: 220,000 km, time: 18 min 45 sec

Going to let it run for a while.

I'm all about circular orbits. I've gotten into a circular orbit at 10,000 kilometers. At that height the orbital period is like 30 hours or something.

My younger brother accidentally got an orbit of 50+ hours. No, we did not sit there and let it run, we used a calculator. The orbit was also ridiculously elliptical, perigee was only at 50,000ish, but apogee was in the hundreds of millions of meters. Should have taken a screen shot, but didn't think to.
