First Contact

LOC : KSC MISSION CONTROL

TIME : 2459 KSC TIME

STATUS : CHECKING ON LS

It was all the buzz in mission control. Commands were being shouted, wives and parents of the MIA Kerbonauts were being called.

"Contact lost. It just vanished into thin air!"

"Kurt, do you copy! Kurt!"

"Get an image of the last location with the Jool Space Telescope!"

"Status report, Laythe station!"

"See if our EVAs aren't dead!"

"RESULT!" Gene shouted. That got everyone's attention. "Kerk is the last survivor. Get him on comms!"

"Yes sir!" The Com-manager said, pulling up comms.

"K-Kerk reporting here..." Kerk's voice sounded shaky.

"What happened?" Gene shouted.

"It-it's gone, I think it was KF..."

"Did it explode?"

"Y-yeah. Didn't see the projectile..." The comm-manager pulled up comms to Kater, with access to the mission control for Jool Space Telescope.

"Kater, do you have an image of Laythe station being destroyed?" Gene said.

"How long ago was that?"

"2 minutes."

"Yeah. It's a pinprick, because it was observing the Vallhenge area. I can easily zoom in on it."

"Kerk, you still there?"

"Y-" Static.

"Lost Kerk's vitals." The health manager said.

"Instead I'm sending you the image one second before Kerk vanished." Kater said. "Also, I think I see some giant squid flying through the station in the older image."

LOC : NEWS CHANNEL 7 STUDIO

TIME : 2300 LAYTHE TIME

STATUS : INTERVIEWING CAPTAIN KATER KERMAN

"What is that, astronomers say, trying to figure out what they are." The news reporter said. "We're not sure if this has anything to do with the found dead giant squid on Bop in a declassified military satellite picture. We are now getting a live link from Kater Kerman on Laythe, with the image of Laythe station being destroyed."

"Hello." Kater said. "Well, if you were wondering, plans for if another of these 'Space Kraken' show up, we've got plans to try and AA it. And then we have evac contingency plans that are classified."

"Why did these squid earn the name Space Kraken?"

"Well, with Laythe Station's destruction, we decided the squid was like one of those Kraken from old pirate stories. That and it was in space."

LOC : IKE CITY

TIME : 1300 KSC TIME

STATUS : PREPPING FOR INTERPLANETARY TRIP TO MAKE SURE OOE IS SAFE

"Well, time to harden some targets again." Kurat said. He beckoned to Kenner, "Come on, you wanna go see that anyways, right?"

"Rather take Argo than hijack."

"Alright. We're hunting space Kraken if they're with the bugs and mechies."

Chapter 2

The Seige Of Laythe Base

LOC : LB

TIME : 2300 KSC TIME

STATUS : CONTACT, AA GUNS PREPPED AND READY

"Contact!"

"Visual contact!"

"IR contact!"

"Everyone guns now!"

"Get the Kraken science mission to evac!"

"Get firing!"

"How long til' the harpoon shipment's here?"

The commands shouted over the comms, much to the dislike of the Com-manager. Kater stood with binoculars. "Evac craft ready now!" He shouted.

"Laythe base laythe base this is KSC what is your status over?" The KSC commander said over comms.

"Tangos heading in, over." Kater said.

"Patch me into your helmet feed."

"Here you go."

"Jeez, they really are Kraken. Harpoon shipment's ETA is one Laythe day."

"Can you shrink that to maybe half a Laythe day?"

"No."

"Warships?"

"1 standard day."

"Can you divert Kurat?"

"No, they have a more important job. Making sure that the Kraken aren't after OOE."

"****. Can you get some special forces from Vall??? Ones who salvaged a bug's ship?"

"Acka?"

"Yes."

"Calling them now."

"They're impacting!" A AA gunner screamed, before being launched into the air.

"EVERYONE EVAC VESSELS NOW." Kater shouted over the amount of screaming.

Fun fact, Acka is the name of my Vaporeon in Pokemon X, one of the dominaters of the Elite Four.

Chapter 3

The Evacuation Of The Joolian System

LOC : ON WAY TO VALL BASE

TIME : 0813 VALL CITY TIME

STATUS : PENN SQUAD MOVING TO ACKA, REP CREW IS BINGOING FUEL FOR ATTACK ON KRAKENS, SIRENS FOR ALL NEARBY ROVERS ON

"Go go go!" Renner, the demolitions manager says. says on the side ladder, barley missing a civilian rover.

"Can you get us a brief?" Kupun, the commander says, offroading slightly to avoid a maniac driver that must be late for work.

"Negative, all you need to know is that you need to hit the Krakens in the back." The Laythe Base com-manager said.

"Easy with the bug's tech." Says Fixer, the technology manager.

"Aw come on, we might take a detour after hitting them to Eeloo if we're lucky." Says Kennen, the sniper says.

"Oh cra-" Static from the Comm-manager.

"Can you push it to fourty meters per second?" Renner says.

I gotta think of more, already deciding what happens at Eeloo.

Shall we visit Eeloo?

Chapter 4

Goodbye Eeloo.

LOC : EELOO ORBIT

TIME : 1297 VALL CITY TIME

STATUS : TANGOS TRYING TO STEAL OOE, ROBOT ARM FIGHTING ONE FOR THE OOE

"Good thing we" Kenner grunts, firing a harpoon into a kraken so Kurat can easily take it out, "Got here before they could devour the sattilite. We've still got a spare on Acka, yes?"

"Uh-huh" Kurat says.

"This is KSC, Argo status?" The KSC Com-manager says.

"Tangos, we'd like a warship diverted." Kenner says.

"Alright, 1 standard day and six standard hours."

Inspiration activate.

Chapter 5 : Good game Jool.

LOC : VALL CITY CAPTIOL BUILDING

TIME : 1230 VALL CITY TIME

STATUS : ALL CIVVIES ARE AN EVAC

Sirens blared, people ran for the evac craft.

"Vall base Vall base execute order 17 over and out." Said the Ike Base Com-manager. It was heard through all military installments on Vall.

LOC : LAYTHE BASE EVAC CRAFT

TIME : 1231 VALL CITY TIME

STATUS : HALF OF LAYTHE BASE GONE DUE TO KRAKEN

"Laythe base Laythe base order 17 over and out." Said the Ike Base Com-manager. It was heard through all military installments on Laythe.

"Freaking Kraken!" Kater shouted, launching rockets to keep one at bay as the engine throttled up.

"This is the Prosecutor, RV with us just in interplanetary space Laythe base over." Pennen said.

This is a decent cliffhanger to leave it at for now.
