Sidgun And Nellas [Part of Clean Slate]

The Jedi Master

Recommended Posts

This was not, in fact, edited by Dux. This is an unedited view of my writing. This short story will give some context to Sid and Nellas. I hope you enjoy, and that it holds you over until the next real chapter!

Craterville

182 AU (After Union)

Sidgun Kerman gritted his teeth as he was shook into the world of the waking. He never liked to be woken up before he was ready. He tried to grab the dream he was fast forgetting--something about fighting the Kraken on Bop. Failing to save the dream, he sighed and opened one eye. He saw his brother, still shaking him furiously.

"Nellas, is it time for school?"

"No!"

"Is something on fire?"

"No!"

"Then let me sleep."

He rolled away, but Nellas threw off the covers and dragged him out of bed. Seeing no point in resisting at this point, he went down the stairs.

"All right, why are you dragging me down here?"

"The Science Man is on Minmus!"

"You mean Bill?"

"Yes!"

Sid suddenly came fully awake and ran down the stairs. He looked at the TV just in time to see Bill Kerman, pilot of the Armstrong 5, become the first kerbal employed by the Jedi Space Program to step foot on another celestial body.

The old television was raspy, but he was able to make out the first words. "That's one small step for a kerbal, one giant leap for kerbalkind!"

Sid squinted hard. The whole thing had an unreal quality to it, like watching a dream from the outside. He watched as Bill made huge jumps and long strides. He gaped in awe the whole time.

Nellas pointed at the screen. "When I grow up, I want to be just like him."

Sid smiled. "Yeah. Me too..."

I hope you enjoyed this very short backstory chapter. If people want me to continue with more tales of the life of Sid and Nellas, go ahead and tell me. Feedback is always appreciated. Thanks for reading! :)
