Hi so I was watching the video of how the claw will be used on asteroids and that's excellent!

However I think it would be a lot more interesting as a deployable part like the KAS hook that would let your ship act like a tugboat. Personally, I don't to tenderly "dock" with an asteroid when I could just use a bottom-deployed claw letting me pull the asteroid away from some amount of distance.

Essentially a claw on a string that lets you use it from a longer distance/not actually have to try really really hard to avoid crashing the asteroid or slowly approaching it. Just shoot and pull.

Yeah! The one and only true slingshot maneuver...

You would have to burn actually towards the asteroid for that to happen because the only way for it to catch up to you is for it to slow down... all of it's vector change come's from you.

Unless the cord has elasticity which definitely isn't a good idea. Or maybe it is. Sounds like fun.
