[0.14+] Whistler Services Elderberry Ni Telemetry System Alpha 0.5.1

Oh i c. A line for easch axis. That makes sense now. I was thinking purely straight up velocity but now i get it.

Leave the save as it is. Now i know how it works all just hit the button when something significant happens. How about a \'save all\' button? :)

Request: Ability to toggle on/off some telemetry lines. :) Horizontal movement is not important to me when shooting straight up so I\'d like to turn that off at the start of a launch. It would allow the Y axis to scale for better detail. :)

Consider it done.

I think I\'m missing something. I have put one antenna on stage 0, the debug console shows a telemetry elmenet doing something, I start the .jar (authorised by the firewall on private networks) but the windows remain all blank. Completely blank, not even full of zeros.

You have to start the program before you launch and on the same computer as KSP. The last for the moment at least.

This only works with vessels that don\'t have spaces in their name. Names like 'Untitled Space Craft' break the name parsing around line 329 of ElderberryNi.java, probably the regex isn\'t ignoring them properly.

Which is strange because I tested the regexp several times. On my system and the web

([\w\s]*)(telemetry transmitter\s)(\w{8})(: online)

Through I have to say that I have a few problem with making regexp... So if anyone can help me there it would be a great help.

Unfortunately, even naming vessels without spaces doesn\'t help me... I\'ve updated to the most recent version of the plugin, part, and app provided in the OP, but I\'m still getting a screen full of zeros.

When using the .bat file, I get this in the command line when switching into a flight:

Hmmmm... That appears to be a problem with the locale... I\'ll look into it...

EDIT: What locale do you use, semininja?

The language setting of your OS.

Meaning English? I live in the Midwest...

Also, I don\'t think it\'s a problem for me, but there\'s no \Plugins\ folder in the DL. I\'m not sure that was intentional.

EDIT: I tried the new version, and the command line showed a few data entries, but then the error came up again:

Sorry, but I can\'t reproduce the error.

And actually I have no idea how to deal with it.

I guess I have to play around with Exceptions here and try blocks... :\'(

Do you suppose COMODO firewall might have something to do with it? I forgot to mention that earlier...

Considering the telemetry plugin is somewhat network-intensive, even if only on your local machine, why not give it a try? To be on the safe side, unplug your network cable/shut off your WLAN before you disable the firewall, and see what happens...

I\'m getting a really strange problem on 0.14.3 (And all others, for that matter). When I put an antenna on my rocket, when I go to launch, it changes the part entirely to a fullsize telemetry module. The module transmits data to the default UDPReciever.exe that\'s included with the telemetry, but not to the Elderberry reciever program. I have not a single clue what\'s going on. I went through the install directions three times, and to the best of my knowledge I\'ve followed them to the letter each time, to no avail. Any idea what might be going wrong?

As far as the antenna turning into a standard telemetry module, that\'s because the antenna part has the same internal name as the one distributed by the maker of the plugin. I can\' really help you as far as why the receiver program won\'t work, though.

Are you running the program on the same computer?

If yes, please start the program from the command line and post the results.

The problem isn\'t the program not getting data, the problem is that I put the antenna on the ship in the VAB, load up on the launch pad, and the antenna part no longer exists. In its place is a fullsize Telemetry module, SAS module sized and all.

No. Remove all mods except the whistler mod

Didn\'t remove *all* mods, but I did remove CRX and the Probodyne antenna that probably caused the conflict, and now it works, good as gold. Thanks for the help.

EDIT: Well, good as gold sometimes. It has an odd tendency to start transmitting telemetry almost a full minute into the flight- seems almost until the module with the antenna becomes part of the primary stage. (IE if you put the antenna on the second stage of a two-stage rocket, it seems like it doesn\'t start sending data until the second stage ignites) When it does get data, though, it is a work of art.

You need to activate the telemetry module (or antenna) at some point. If you put it into the second stage, it will activate then, if you put it in another stage, it will activate when that stage becomes active. You can put the part in its own stage and activate that whenever you want, by pulling the stage icon to wherever you want in the VAB.

Also, I assume you should only put either an antenna or a telemetry module on the same stage; you can have as many as you want in total, they each have their own UUID. I have no idea how mixing my telemetry module with Warringer\'s antenna plays out, but in theory it should work. If in doubt, use the telemetry module, and delete the antenna part folder, at least for testing.

*smacks forehead*

I can\'t believe that I forgot to put that little note into my README...

Of course you have to put the icon of the telemetry antenna into the stage that is ignited first or even in one before that...

But I doubt that you\'d get anything out of the conventional Telemetry Module, through you would if you put the settings on the same as the antenna.

I\'m going to throwing in a small fix for the naming problem in the part that makes it collide with Probodyne and (hopefully) a workaround for that perksy little problem that was noted above. Not that it will get anything actually fixed, only a quick and dirty fix, before I can find out why the thing didn\'t find a resource that should be there... :-X

No dezoom on the charts, but I guess that is a feature that needs implementing.

The CVS files are automatically saved when the Antenna stops transmitting. Meaning when you either end a flight or switch to another craft. No manual save there.
