Processing of video on the computer

I wonder why video processing with computer games, I'm not talking about recording but about converting. I wonder if I bought myself a better graphics card is whether this process would be faster?

I wonder what has had a greater impact graphics card in my case MSI NVIDIA GT 630 4GB Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 2.66 GHz or 6GB RAM (various companies)

I suppose you're talking about video encoding? Generally, how long video encoding takes depends almost entirely on how fast your cpu is. Some encoding software are able to use GPUs and there are purpose built hardware encoders, but I think looking into either isn't worth the hassle/cost if heavy encoding isn't something you do regularly.

In an ideal world you may be best served by a 12 thread i7 processor but in my limited experience, i5 + amd hd6950, I gained quite an increase when using the GPU with certain codecs.
