  1. He was bravely taking on the first manned mission to achieve a stable LKO. He managed to successfully establish an orbit at around 80.000 km. Using his onboard devices, he was able to send large amounts of EVA reports to KSC. Using the rest of his fuel, he did a retrograde burn which led his vessel to a trajectory ending in kerbal ocean waters. Unfortunatelly, the deployed parachute, even though fired at the altitude of 20.000km was apparently not enough to slow down the capsule enough. It crashed into the ocean with the force of a thousand suns (around 10m/s). The capsule blew up, the emergency teams where not able to recover any leftovers. On the bright side, there have been no reports of a dead kerbonaut washed ashore on any of the observed continents. Being an old lone wolve, who knows? This legend of a kerbonaut might have been able to survive somehow. I guess we'll find out in time ... he might just show up at the KSC kerbonaut recruitment facility once he makes his way back to the KSC ...
  2. That sounds pretty sweet! Can't wait to read more about it, I have never thought that kerbal lifestyle might contain such things as love or religion. I always presumed it pretty much revolved about slapping together highly dangerous and potentially explosive and life threatening devices like a five year old.
  3. Hah. And here I am, failing to even establish a stable orbit. I used to be able to easily do it in 0.18.x. Then I stopped playing due to health issues until now, am completely absorbed by the amount of new features, started with the beautifully designed career mode and am now having major problems even getting to a stable orbit. No matter what I do or how I do it, I always end up with barelly enough fuel to circulize my orbit, let alone deorbiting. No way I'll come anywhere near Mun and back anytime soon. Learning curve, here we go again. :cheesy:
  4. This thread is starting to have a lot of potential
  5. I guess you'd get some neat preorder bonus parts for building rockets. Those parts are not available in any other DLC, nor can they be earned in game. They also add unfair bonuses, i.e. a weight/fuel ratio that's at least twice as good as any standard item. Also full priced addons, released every 6 months, adding a few new parts as well as some new cloths for your kerbonauts. At some point in time, they might introduce cute little animals one could host at KSC.
