  1. Thanks to everyone who read. I have verified file integrity many times, and reinstalled many time. After everything I attempted I have managed to get everything to work. My last attempt involved installing KSP to a completely different location - /home/myname/ksp/ and everything seems to be running well. If anyone else with Linux seems to have this issue, try installing the game to another location in the install dialogue in Steam.
  2. I have had an itch to play KSP again. I have nearly 1,000 hours in the game at this point. I've played quite a bit before. I reinstalled the game (after I uninstalled from Steam, deleted the directory). No mods (yet) and totally vanilla. It won't start. From Steam I click play and it is preparing, then it just crashes and shows nothing and says nothing. I tried to launch the game from the command line and it tells me this: me@mycomputer:~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Kerbal Space Program$ ./KSP.x86_64 Set current directory to /home/me/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Kerbal Space Program Found path: /home/me/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Kerbal Space Program/KSP.x86_64 There is no data folder "There is no data folder" - I've searched around Google but I haven't found any clear way of dealing with this issue. I'm running Ubuntu 18.04. --- My search on Google: The problem seemed related to case sensitive directories in Linux. https://steamcommunity.com/app/233610/discussions/3/1458455461487758388/ Something about Unity development, not sure how this related: https://forum.unity.com/threads/solved-there-is-no-data-folder.364065/ Anyone have any thoughts on it?
