This makes sense. But its really confusing because the speed that shows changes when you change orbits, since kerbin is at 9k m/s orbit around the sun and im at 7k m/s Im still moving in the same direction around the sun just 7k m/s slower that I would on kerbin. Riiight. There should be a way to change which orbital object we want to refer our speed to!
-
So all objects are moving away from me, refer to picture. However orbit shows 1 thing, Im physically moving in a different direction. Says sun AP 256 days, PE 157 days, however Im physically moving towards AP first and PE last. Really bugged map UI

Alright guys after I read your posts here, Ive made several tests and its DEFINETELY some sort of bug. I ran the same ship over and over again the same exactly way, sometimes it triggers the bug where the torque stops using electricity, other times works fine. For example: I press W and it uses electricity, and other times it doesn't use any electricity at all even though I keep pressing W A S D trying. (which is when it doesn't turn)
-
I just tried this right now, 1 single fuel tank and the 200 lt engine that helps to turn. The same thing happened, the ship goes totally out of control at about 3-4k kms high, I cut the engine and wait for the velocity to reach close to 0 and I cant even turn the rocket at that time. It will move up to about 15 degrees from vertical position and doesn't move past that, even with engine off completely and velocity at about 0, just before it starts falling. It is something else other than parts and dynamics Id like to add, it was working before just fine, I play this game every now and then for years. Just recently about a week ago it started acting like this. I'm using windows 10 btw, do you think it could be that? Or related ..

Was really cool Good luck and keep it going strong.

Hi, Do you guys wait for the best time to deorbit out of kerbin towards another planet, or you just node in whenever you want to the best of your abilities? Im asking as if you use the time warp function to go as long as 94 days and wait for the best encounter possible, or if you just eye plan your route. Thanks
-
Most efficient and easy to launch IMO: asparagus built on pyramid shape rocket. The outter ring with 1 tank per engine the quantity of rings depends on the main ship to lift mass

Tried ONCE again to land in Duna AND come back to kerbin with science, to once again fail due to lack of fuel.

If you have installed mechjeb AFTER you unlocked the nodes where its parts are, then you need to go to your science tree, and click on the nodes and search for parts that arent yet unlocked in that node. Then right click and a message will show if you wish to unlock that part (purchase that part if I remember correctly)

Heres my point of view: As a new KSP player, but an avid to video games for 10 years almost non stop (mmorpgs mostly); Many MJ functions are good, the INFO ones for new players. However the automation ones should NOT be available to new players, as they dont provide anything but the total loss of interest in the game as it kills all the purpose in learning. On the other hand, I think MJ is great for veteran players, who have done a gazillion of times all of the launching, landing, routing etc, and its become a quite boring process to repeat over and over. So the solution IMO is (if its even possible): Have MJ available to download, but only activate the automation tools on accounts that have proven to be old enough. And this could be detected by achievements (if they were implemented in the game core), or total science points achieved, for example.

Hi there, so I was looking at some of the mods that work on 0.23 and found this one called "achievements", which I think its great. So I was wondering if this could be a suggestion for the DEVs to include something like missions and/or achievements in the game which you would need to complete in order to perhaps unlock more parts (from other addons maybe)? I trully believe that having things to do, an objective, would give us a new perspective and motivation in the game. Theres close to unlimited possibilities and achievements and or missions as we can see in these forums people are trying to do. Why not inlcude them or the best ones in the game? Maybe also create an achievements records and an online profile where we could check on each other, etc.. Thanks.

I installed and know of this game for like 1 year, but only played demo every now and then up to a week ago when I decided to get the full version. So I guess 0.23 Dont ask me which version I played first on demo though, dont remember.

How to get off a ladder onto a flat surface???
iNUKE replied to iNUKE's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
For a moment i thought it had something to do with jebediah stupidity level -
Hi guys, Im trying to get up on my ladder and then on top of a flat surface at the end of my ladder, but jebediah keeps falling down back to the ground once I reach the top of the ladder instead of walking straight forward to get on top of that flat surface. How do you do this? Is it even possible I mean... ? Thanks

Sent him on a mission to Duna in search of science, only to find him orbiting the sun with no fuel left. RIP Was a true inspiring and creative person while he lived, he will be remembered.

Why is water more unforgiving than land?
iNUKE replied to LostElement's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
As I said, it ALL depends on the shape of the object and the position of that object when landing. Landing with one of the corners of your object should survive a lot better than landing flatened out straight. It seems like this game doesnt count on that (if you hit the water with a corner of your ship or straight flat bottom) Landing on water: Hit the corner first, should survive more speed. This game doesnt count of if you hit the water with a corner or not, which is wrong but its a game. -
Hi there, Im pretty new to the game, started playing 2 days ago, but I play a lot of hours, 12+ a day. Im currently playing pure KSP no mods, on career mode, trying to get all science unlocked, before I use any mods. Already landed on mun and minmus MANY times, there's literally close to no biomes left uncovered, and now I will start exploring different planets in order to get more science points. Well my question is, considering getting science points is the only objective in the game that rewards you (at least that I know of), will there be other solar systems and ways of travelling, and things to do in the game that actually gives you a purpose in game? Id like to have things to do, other than just build rockets with trucks shaped pods and see them explode.
