Year 1071: A huge asteroid 15 kilometers in length hits Kerbin, wiping out all surface Kerbal civilization, and destroying the KSC (Kerbal Space Center). Only the Kerbals at the North Pole Colony and the Mun Colony survive. Impact debris hit the Fractured Space Station and The International Kerbal Station, knocking the m out of orbit and causing them to crash into the Mun. The crater from this impact can still be seen today: Kerbin Crater
