Today, I tried putting a 30t base on Minmus... it took three times due to a critical lack of fuel on the first two attempts. The first stranded in LKO and required me to save Bob with a rendezvous mission, the second got stranded in low Minmus orbit and was fully manned (my arrogance of thinking I'd pull it off) by eight (!) Kerbals. The third mission I learned from my mistakes and I put a probe core on the base, allowing me to land it on Minmus unmanned. The eight Kerbals stranded in low Minmus orbit then went EVA and de-orbited one by one, each of them landing at the new Minmus base. A special mention goes to Burger Kerman, who received a medal for being the last to leave the stranded base in orbit, but not before having pushed it into a collision course with Minmus. He jumped out just in time and survived, becoming an example for many future generations of Kerbals. Now the eight Kerbals can continue the construction of the first (and ever-growing) modular base on another celestial body.
