  1. I know that 1.03 added a change to drag calculations that resulted in less drag on aerodynamic vehicles, and due to this you guys made changes to the jets. Specifically you reduced their thrust, but at the same time halved their fuel efficiency. Total overkill! The reduced drag is no where even close to compensating for the massive hit you guys did to jets. (The thrust change would have been enough, but the efficiency change was completely unnecessary. 1.02 had already nerfed SSTO's now they are almost impossible. My best SSTO/space plane from version 1.02 was able to take off (with no payload, and if flown perfectly) get to kerbin orbit, and then thrust out to about 2/3rds the distance between Duna and Dres' orbits. (which sounds like alot, but really no, as it only had enough DV to land on the Mun but not get back to kerbin.) That same SSTO is now barely able to achieve kerbin orbit, and thats without a payload at all. Please, please, please re-balance this. Every major update seems to be aimed at screwing over people who build SSTO's and space planes. Those are where the fun is at and the challenge; but now its beyond challenging to just frustrating and stupid. On a related side note: the RAPIER engine really needs to be more powerful and fuel efficient; especially since its in the final level of the tech tree. This thing is supposed to be made to get SSTO's to orbit!!!!
  2. I expanded on the frigate that I built earlier, and designed 2 naval destroyers. Both are armed with missiles. One with 6 mid range cruise missiles, and the other with 4 mid range and 1 long range missile. They are approx. 100 meters (300ish feet) long, Kerbal crew of 11, and can do up to around 14 m/s in the water. Once again, vanilla, all stock parts with no mods. Played around with some ship to ship combat and it turned out much much better than I had ever expected!!! Enjoy!! (PS: if you just want to jump to combat stuff, view vid4, or the daytime vid5) So here is the vid in 4 parts: http://youtu.be/Cp35vNhU53g http://youtu.be/3-J3tzUHo0s http://youtu.be/TXxu7sM907E http://youtu.be/v1YqT5mfj_c Here is the daytime vid http://youtu.be/IRfAXkvgQ18 And here is a couple screen shots: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=235659026 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=235658740 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=235658759 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=235658800 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=235658859 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=235658891 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=235658921
  3. I realize that this isn't really the most appropriate forum for this post, but I just rented "Gravity" and spent the wee hours of the morning watching it. And of course I thought of the KSP community. I thought the movie was just epic!! I don't know if it's just me, or something to do with my back ground (I was a infantry combat medic and now I'm a civilian paramedic), I'm used to seeing very heroic people do amazing things on a daily basis. But whatever the reason this movie hit me in the face with a shovel; it just moved me spiritually and emotionally. It was visually stunning and beautiful on so many levels. I'm so disappointed that I didn't get to see it on the big screen in full 3D; if it ever comes back to the theater I'm going to see it hands down. There is nothing that just moves me like self sacrifice, and the ability and courage (giant brass balls) for someone to choose to put themselves in harms way for the betterment of mankind, and/or the well being of others. Its for reasons like this that gives me hope for us as people in general, and why I have a very sensitive spot in my soul for movies like this, and others like the right stuff, apollo 13, from the earth to the moon, and so many more. If you watch movies and documentaries like these it hits home, just how dangerous space travel is. These HEROS and I don't use that word lightly, knowingly put themselves in the most unbelievable scenarios that I could ever imagine. KSP is an amazing game that brings so much attention to these amazing people that SQUAD, and the dedicated people working on this should be very proud. So I just wanted to say that while we have our successes and failures in KSP, and Kerbalnauts rise to greatness, and die for the betterment of science.. please keep in mind that there is a direct parallel and mirror to real life and human history here. To all the fallen HEROS of past and present space programs, and also to those that are currently and knowingly putting their lives on the line for NASA, other agencies, and other occupations; I salute you, my heart and prayers go out to you, and you all make your mark on human history every moment of your lives. I thank you all, for your courage, and selflessness. God Bless You All.
