In Scott Manley's 2 hour ARM video stream I recall having him crash an asteroid into Kerbin with no prior slowdown or parachutes and both the rock and the crew survived. I would say they are pretty durable.

Do the kerbals speak animalese like from animal crossing 0_o? Anyway looking good ill see the third part once you release it.

Ill be making asteroid space stations by having double ended claws connect asteroids together, then make an entire network of connected asteroids around kerbin and have my space station parts connected to the asteroids themselves.
