OP should try a pod on top of a fuel piece or engine, see what happens.

You did great!
I would suggest trying not to take it personally? I had the same thing happen on eve, and I had to try over three times. Each time I just reminded myself that this is the VERY FIRST version, and that they are going to iron out all the bugs in good time.

OMG FAM, IT'S FINALLY HERE!!!
I had always wanted to build a custom PC, and had made an agreement with my wife that we would probably wait until KSP2 came out. Well, I'm typing this out on my new PC, that I finished just a few days before the release.
i5-12400
rx 6650 xt
32GB DDR5
2TB M.2 Drive for games
500MB M.2 Drive for OS and programs
4TB 2.5" SSD Drive for media
And as much RGB as I could find for 20% more FPSWell, you can guess what I spent my day doing, but I figured you might also want to see. I'm playing the game on 1080 Medium settings.
I started off with a good ol' mission to the Mun, and was able to make a return trip as well. From there, I decided to try a trip to Eve.
I also figured out how to make GIFs of my mission, but can't figure out how to embed them here. Here they are if you want to see some cool GIFs.

I guess I'm going to have to send a rescue mission, but that will have to wait until tomorrow. -
Unistall all other life support mods besides Kerbalism. I forgot that Kerbalism has it's own life support system.

12 minutes ago, Crimeo said:
ammonia means a part in game that holds "ammonia"
"liquid ammonia" is a different set of letters than "ammonia" and as far as the game is concerned, may as well be "elephants"I realized this pretty quick, and felt stupid for thinking it might work. For some reason I just took it for granted, and thought that maybe they transported it in liquid form. Duh!
13 minutes ago, Crimeo said:Kerbalism should ship with "big tanks" and some other tanks that hold "ammonia" as a resource. However, you're almost certainly going to get a ton of errors in general besides this trying to use two different life support mods. Since they suppress things about one another, possibly including the chemical plant processes, etc?
Just use one of them.Yeah, I was being a dumb dumb, and forgot that Kerbalism includes it's own life support system. I was thinking it needed one for some reason, but this fixed me right up.
Thank you so much!
Now for a fresh start, bleh. -
Has anybody successfully used the greenhouse in kerbalism with TAC life support? I have a space station set up, but my greenhouse says it doesn't have any ammonia. I sent up some tanks of liquid ammonia, but I guess that's not what they meant. I see that the mini chemical plant can convert hydrogen and nitrogen into ammonia, but when I sent up a craft with the chemical plant and some hydrogen, nothing happened. Has anybody gone through this already that can help me out, I'm about ready to give up on the game for a while if I can't figure this out.

I'm waiting to play [1.2] until this mod is ready. KSP is unplayable without this mod in my opinion, keep up the awesome work!

If it comes out this Tuesday, we are all in trouble.
Title Release date
Fallout 4 Tuesday, November 10th
Starcraft 3: Legacy of the void Tuesday, November 10th
Kerbal Space Program 1.0.5 ??? Tuesday, November 10th ???
I might have to take the day off of work.... or the week.

I like the new layout.

check out the circumnavigation thread. A lot of us taking part in it have built jets that cruise at 1720-1740. That's a bit over mach 5. I've gotten my own over 1750 in a powerdive. Rapier in air mode, no oxidizer, low drag, high altitude.
Yes, but per the rules of this challenge we cannot use rapier engines or go above 50 km. So

Did someone say fast?!

That's 1531.9 m/s or mach 4.45!

Make you own work. Find a need and fill it.
You think everything is made up already? If so, your wrong. Make something up, just make sure it is good.
You may think the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. But in reality, the grass is greenest where you tend to it. Stop looking else where for a solution to your problems, everyone and everywhere has problems. Just drink the water where you come from.
Never put something off until tomorrow, when you could put it off until the day after that as well. The point is, don't put stuff off. Try to accomplish one task towards a greater goal every day, and soon you will find yourself accomplishing those goals.
If your bored, and can't find anything to do, do something productive. You will probably still be bored, but you will be distracted, and get stuff done.
Stay safe, and research the facts. I don't think one specific mode of transportation over another is going to change your life, for the better at least. Get a bike with gears and a helmet, no insurance necessary, and their cheaper than gas powered transportation.
Ok, I'm done. Hope I helped.

Hello all, and thank you for your time.
First, a brief back story....
I have recently had to leave my job of over 9 years. I didn't want to, but the nature of the business became too stressful and unappreciative for me.
Once I left I received several higher paying jobs as a sub-contractor. And the businesses that were employing me are extremely appreciative.
This has helped me decide that I want to go into business. The job I left is tanking since I left, and it would be really easy to employ or sub-contract my old co-workers for my new business.
Now for where you come in if you can help....
I need to find business insurance. And since I am still in the developmental stage of creating my business, I want to structure it so that the insurance premiums are as low as possible.
The problem is that I have absolutely no experience with business insurance. And every time I try to get more information from an agent, I get one sentence responses, or just get ignored.
Admittedly, I haven't tried to get a lot of quotes, but it seems like a dead end trying to get information from them.
Is there anyone here who has experience with business insurance that would be willing to coach me? I know a little about what is going on, but would like to know if I'm right, and what to expect. I hate going blindly into things.
In any case, if you have read this far, thank you again for your time, I don't know where else to ask but the greatest gaming community on earth!

I have been trying to see if it is possible to move the entire space center to a different planet, but haven't been able to find any leads. I want to play career mode on a different planet. I imagine starting out on Laythe, or Dres, or Eeloo. I am willing to try and make it happen myself, but I have no modding experience, and haven't been able to find any file to edit to get my way.
Can anybody help me out here? Either to create a mod or something to make it possible to move the space center, or to point me in the right direction.
-
So add some turbojets. Plenty of room under and behind the wings.
You do it! It's your plane.
It's not really clear to me how the entries are being scored.I wasn't scoring entries yet, because I hadn't seen anybody trying for the same goal. I'm thinking of creating a category for each goal though, to encourage people to try and beat each others designs. In which case scoring would be dependent on the goal.
Does anybody think I should change it to something like that?
-
Impossible.
Is this challenge possible? Many challenges we see are nearly or literally impossible to achieve, and usually very little thought has gone into them, these challenges just annoy people, waste forum space and show that the submitter hasn't really tried.
So test your challenge yourself first to make sure it is possible, you don't have to be successful but you'll soon know if the challenge has a hope of being completed.
-
?!?!?!?!?!?!
What is going on people? Is this challenge to intimidating? Am I taking all the destinations?
This is the only challenge I seem to be doing recently, I'm having so much fun with it. But I'm considering asking the moderators to move it to the spacecraft exchange and post craft files unless people start participating. If you can't think of anyplace to go, just try and beat one of my designs. And if you can't, rep me please. I'm starting to think that I'm the only one with any interest in SSTO+ spaceplanes.
I mean check this out!

Oh, and BTW...
If anybody wants to try and fly it in stock, feel free; it would probably even work if flown right (i.e. ride the edge of overheating until you've maxed the jets for both speed and altitude, raise the apoapsis on the oxidiser and circularise with the nuke). No guarantees, though.Yeah, that isn't going to work. I can't even get it transonic.
-
Infernal Robotics was installed in the game, but it isn't used in that design.
Ahhhh, the nuke is on the belly. I though it popped out the back once out of orbit. My bad.
But it is a FAR design. Someone could probably make something comparable in stock aero, but it won't be me. Like a lot of the FAR-crew, I find stock aero intolerably unpleasant to play with (it's a lot better than the old aero, but it's still not a patch on the real thing).I might try it out, I just fear that the air breathing engines wont breath as high, so it will probably rob some deltaV from the design.
-
Really nice Wanderfound! I'm going to create a modded etries chart because I like yours so much. I do have to point out though...
- Information, autopilot, and visual mods are allowed. No other mods please.
- All stock parts, physics, and solar system. No file tweaking or modding please.
I noticed that you used Infernal Robotics and Ferram Aerospace Research. Which raises two questions for me.
1. Would the craft make it into orbit with stock aerodynamics?
2. Can you make a stock craft do the same thing?
- Information, autopilot, and visual mods are allowed. No other mods please.
-
Sooooo.... At first I was a little dissapointed that nobody had even commented on this challenge, and it just slipped onto page two. But now I understand why. It is REALLY HARD to make Single Stage to ANYTHING!!! But having said that, I am a little surprised that nobody has come up with at least ONE Single Stage to Mun or some such. I mean, check this out.....

Welcome to the single stage to your choosing challenge
Version 2!
Now that everyone has had a chance to play around with the new aerodynamics, I am going to revive this challenge. If you want to check out what we accomplished last time, check this out!
This challenge will be for almost anything and everything single stage. Lets see what we can accomplish without making a mess of orbit.
I may modify or add rules depending on how this challenge pans out.
If you have any suggestions for rules or formatting, feel free to send me a message.
Rules and Restrictions
- No single stage to orbit, low Kerbin orbit lifters, liquid jets that "just fly" (or hover), Kerbin circumnavigators, or ion gliders.
- Your craft may not use any additional stages in the staging controls, action groups are fine though.
- No re-fueling with other crafts. Feel free to create a single stage craft that can harvest and convert resources though, I would like to see it.
- Your craft may separate, but all pieces must be recovered together. No using SSTO lifters or ditching stuff in orbit.
- It's ok to lose pieces of your craft while attempting to show it off (i.e. crashing), but it should not lose pieces by design.
- Information, autopilot, and visual mods are allowed. No other mods please.
- All stock parts, physics, and solar system. No file tweaking or modding please.
- No over powered game exploits like kraken drives, or infinigliding. Part clipping is allowed.
- No debug menu shenanigans. Please be honest, nobody likes cheaters.
- Must provide pics of your accomplishments, my bandwidth usage limit doesn't like videos. Embedded albums rock! If you don't know how to, you can learn here.
- If you like this challenge please rate it, and give me rep!
Scoring
Please include at least 3 pieces of information for scoring, feel free to add additional information that you feel is relevant to your design. If I start to see some competition I will create categories, but for now here is what people have accomplished with a single stage.
Here is my entry to get things going
