  1. 1 rocket, 1 launch, 3 tourist. All 3 tourists require "Suborbital spaceflight on Kerbin" and nothing else. All 3 tourists were part of the one rocket on the same launch to the same height (75Km). 1 Tourist stuffed into a KV-1 "Onion", and the other two in a KV-2 "Pea". Two of the tourists got the green checkbox. The third one did not. (Not sure which were seated where) All 3 tourists returned safely, I got paid for two of them and one of them still needs to go suborbital. Am I missing something or did I encounter a bug? Playing with 1.6.1.2401 (WindowsPlayer x64) 1.6.1 Making History 1 mod: TAC life support.
  2. Hype train! (last few image doesnt count, just imagine it actually flew like a eagle in space) http://imgur.com/a/lx8yX
  3. Highlights: - I broke two engines when landing on two wheels - I ended the game before checking the final mission log, and when I reloaded it had reset. I will beconservative but truthful in my summary here. - I realized ion powered flight is awesome. Total time: 09:53 Total points: 65.8 Max horisontal speed: 74m/s (from screenshot reference at point of horisontal flight) Weight: 3.7T Main Points: No reaction wheel +5 Speed (74/5) +14.8 Mass +0 Time (40*15 seconds under 20mins) +40 Total main points: 59.8 Alternative points: Two-legged +5 Xeon Master (used 509) +3 Aesthetics Master -2 (ugliest plane in the competition) Total alternative points: 6 Total points: 65.8
  4. Please, Saving the game when not really caring is great! Quicksaving and quickloading as appendums are magnificent! After some quick saves/loads I've realized that this feature is magnificent and needs to stay in the game. This feature is so great that, in fact, I rely upon it for some very important occations. The problem with this magnificent feature comes when you are not paying properly attention: I launch a craft, it flies great! I save when reaching orbit. I land. I launch another magnificent craft. It fails. I reload. I'm stuck on the previous craft-reaching-orbit-save Potential rage.... What is a problem without a solution? Just a problem that everybody hates.. My solution: Launching a new craft will overwrite your latest possible save/quicksave. If you launch a new craft then your previous endeavours were good enough to not need saving.
  5. Not sure if this is appropriate, but Hitman IV: Bloodmoney had a pretty interesting way to use a newspaper article after each mission. The title would be according to the way you played the mission. The text would be in journalist-written-like summary (though a real newspaper never does it this way.) edit: link to hitman wiki with images http://hitman.wikia.com/wiki/Newspaper Example: "The Ghost strikes again! The victim died horribly by gunshot. Forensics say the bullets seem to come from a colt something. There were no witnesses and everybody say they heard nothing at all." Kerbal variant: "Experimental Escape system failed during latest test! The SpaceshipnameHere lifted off and managed to reach 9001 meters of height before there was a sudden breakage between a fuel tank and a decoupler. There was a little explosion that detached the craft into 3 pieces. It was impossible to save the victims/volunteer experimental pilots. Luckily there are at least 6 new candidates eager to try again! If the space program cannot pull this mission off within 3 weeks, the contractors will be displeased."
  6. Thank you for this information DauntingFlyer, I will try it out whenever I get around to testing again
  7. I'm checking this thread daily to see if there are any news on a working 0.23.5 version. I found more than one post claiming it works, but when I finally found a link to a version that was supposed to work for 23.5, I ran into the "welded item tries to attach itself from the middle instead of the attach-points, and is flipped 90 degrees in two directions"-problem. Is there really a version that works with 23.5, or is this just a modding myth at this point?
  8. Math is weird, because it makes perfect sense. The weirdness comes from the human brain, thinking it makes perfect sense when it actually does not. (you know what you want to eat, but you eat what is available because it is "good enough". Then you spend too much money on some thing you don't really need. You are now poor, which is a result of your own stupidity, but it was ok at the time. Math does not allow such deviations.) The problem comes when the human brain needs to make perfect sense logical math-calculation. When this happens, the human brain needs to follow specific rules that does not have any kind of chance to be bent. Maths are not bent rules, they are absolute rules. The brain follows bendable rules all the time. They say that you are either creative/artistic or good at maths. I think this is bull**, and it's up to each individual to get good at anything. So basically, the more maths you do, the more you will understand (it's like lifting weights....). The problem is that you have to struggle through the "I don't get it" periods until you get it. Those periods are hard, and depends on your tutor (and somewhat yourself) how hard it is to get through it. Once you DO "get it", then you will feel like the king of the world! I'll just say, don't give up! You will get it if you try hard enough! Science will probably require some math-skills no matter how you look at it, but if it's your dream then don't give up!
  9. Hello one and everyone! Simple proposal: A kerbal space program folding@home team! How? Download client and contribute your folding points to some dedicated team! Wait what? I need a longer explanation!! Ok, here it is: So you want to grow old, happy and disease-free? Tough luck, unless you contribute to this magnificent future you so desire! Would you believe me if I said you could aid medical science without lifting a finger? (of course, you have to lift your finger a few times in order to click the mouse during setup... but after setup you're good to live finger-lifting-free) So basically, there are a ton of things that can go wrong in a human body. Scientists are amazing creatures that understand things you never though the human race needed to know. One such case is the proteins in your body, which tend to do this thing called "Folding". I have no idea what that means, but some scientists seem to think this "folding" of proteins is a thing we need to understand. They say they can possibly find cures for these diseases: -Alzheimer's -Cancer -Huntington's -Parkinson So what can you do to aid them? Simple! Download a legit tool to your pc. Install it. Run it. Scientists can now borrow a little bit of your computers free time (when you sleep, watch youtube etc). The best thing about this, is the simplicity! So simple, and for a good cause. You don't pay any money for it, you only invest some of your computers idle-time into your future health. I've been folding for a while now, and racked up a respectable 350K points. (many many more to come, trust me!) You actually get points for folding, and are ranked against other folders. Though this is just for fun, since points don't matter. That's right, the points are just like deodorant to a cab driver. (/whose line quote) Enough talk, start folding right now, and create a healthier future for yourself and your family! Folding@home official website is found at this adress: http://folding.stanford.edu Oh, and just to be clear, I'm posting this to initiate a possible team. I do not intend to manage/create/initiate anything related to this. I am already folding fulltime to some private team. Feel free to contribute to a better future!
  10. Not that I see this thread as not-worthy... But isn't the artificial gravity amount based on the diameter of the spinner, as well as the amount of rounds per second/minute/whatever ?
  11. So hey I managed a respectable 204 m/s with my 100% stock and luckily stable boat. I might've added more engines and gained more speed, but hey, let's keep it properly looking. Sorry if external links are not allowed (I'll update and fix some screenshots if not...) but here is the full story: http://uberubert.com/gaming/kerbal-space-program/speedboating-in-ksp/
  12. Happy new years everyone! Lets share our most kerbal newyears rockets! And in case a thread already exists on this, and I failed to find it.. Consider this my contribution to the newyears rocketry stall More pics: The rocket (builtin self destruct on top): The liftoff:
