  1. Really? All my pods never seem to have enough lift without me CONSTANTLY adjusting pitch.
  2. I have a plane I named the Condor... simply because after about 1000m, the physics went wonky and any sort of adjustments to pitch caused the wings to flap... a lot. Like flap 30 degrees up, and down, of 0. Oh and the nose of the plane would bob 50 degrees up and down of 0. Still got to space... somehow.
  3. My intergalactic VTOL. Runs on 1 Tellurium engine for takeoff, and 3 for lateral movement. Once it's going, the tellurium engines really shine, as they run on the radioactive decay of tellurium... so they last awhile, at a low (ish) thrust. Since they can burn SOOO long, you can go VERY fast over time, simply because of how long they burn. Thrust is 300 Stock, I went into the code and lowered them to 225 so the craft handles better in vtol mode. Basically Jet engines for space. "Uh.. is it too late to say I forgot something? I need to go back." This is what I mean by burns a long time. I burnt engines at full throttle for 8 hours to achieve this speed. Given it had a TON of fuel, way more than necessary, and was passed the effects of gravity. Well... I DID recover him with a small pod... took awhile to get out there though. Just some cool looking pics.
  4. Thanks guys! I currently have 2 flyable pods, but neither can really turn sharp. Both just seem to want to make big banking turns. So now that I get them flying, I just can barely steer them. T_T Anyone want to post a download (the One on KerbalSpacePort comes in as a txt file then doesn't load right because it uses old KAS parts)? Or like a tutorial I guess? Here's my most successful pod, it just doesn't like turning much. The best 180 degree turn I can do is around a 500-700m diameter. How many control surfaces do you recommend and where do you place them??? You can see the clipped control surfaces at the back. The rest that are clipped into the body are all fixed wings.
  5. Ok, so I know this thread is pretty old, but I have a question. I've been building my pods (to what seem spec) -Air brakes on pod -clipped wings (a ton of them) -clipped control surfaces -center of mass out front -attachment point behind thrust vector What am I missing? Do I need an SAS module somewhere? In the engines, or the pod? Sorry if Necro.
