  1. Thanks for the reply! I was never able to get the re-root tool to work, but I did create a sub-assembly which did the trick.
  2. I've built a rocket that will get the three kerbal capsule to orbit. Now I want to use the same rocket to get my custom built Mun lander into orbit so they can dock and head off to the Mun. However, I cannot figure out how to swap out the command modules. I thought this version 1.7.3.2594 was able to do this using the re-root tool. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to do it. I've tried every combination of clicking tools, parts, modules, etc, but nothing seems to work. I must be missing something because this seems like it should be three to four clicks max. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!
  3. Thanks for the all the replies. It seems a bit strange that you should have to test and engine after splashing down! I haven't been able to try it yet, but I'll get to it eventually I guess.
  4. I tried right clicking on the engine, but there is no option to "Run Test".
  5. I've returned to KSP after a several months and I have been trying to work through the contracts. However, the language/grammar of the contract description is somewhat confusing. For example, I am trying to figure out what "Test the LT-V45 Liquid Fuel Engine splashed down at Kerbin" means. Some of the other contracts have similarly confusing or unclear descriptions. For the LT-V45 contract, I have a tried a variety of different approaches, but none of them seem to work. How do I decipher the contract code!?! Thanks!
  6. Solved! When I selected the new command pod it placed it very close to the floor of the VAB and it was obscured by support scaffolding. I didn't realise that it had done that so I selected another command pod and it treated that second pod like a regular component.
  7. Thanks for the quick reply. I tried that, but I can't get the rocket to attach to the new command pod/payload. Once the original command pod has been deleted I can no longer attach any components. Even if I replace the command pod with the same type of pod, I still can't connect it.
  8. I searched for the answer but wasn't able to find anything. I thought this would be a faq. I would like to save some of the launch vehicles (rockets) that I have made but add different payloads too them. I can't figure out to do this with out rebuilding the vehicle in the VAB. For example... I have made a heavy lift rocket to take the core of my space station to orbit. I would like to use that same rocket to lift large payloads (primarily fuel) to the space station. However, when I detach the command pod (I'm using unmanned pods with MechJeb), I am unable to add new command pods and the new payload. Any help would be much appreciated, Thanks!
  9. The problem is not so much that the debris is in the way... rather there seems to be a bug which prevents me from selecting the correct target ship when debris is present. I can only select the debris and end the mission if I fly a ship close to it and then use the [ and ] keys to select it. I'll try installing the Haystack mod and see if that helps. Thanks!
  10. I've been having a problem with debris... I don't mind it being up there as it adds a degree of realism. However, it is preventing me from selecting crewed ships as targets for docking. I can select the correct ship in the map screen as a target, but the target ends up being debris in different orbit. I'm not able to delete the debris by selecting it in the map view and then deleting it by hitting the esc key and then ending the mission. Any ideas about how to fix my problem? Thanks, Andy
