  1. I present you the VTOL-Space Mk.V(I need a new name; suggestions open ) It's in 0.23.5 because I still haven't found either the time or the inclination to update everything Anyway: this can get to a 100 km circular orbit with about 1500m/s of deltav remaining. I have yet to test the performance with a payload.
  2. Here's a teaser of my SSTO based on the Flying Wing Mk.II design. The Flying Wing Mk.III(the name is still WIP, advice accepted). I still need to fix some details(struts, solar panels) and then it will be ready to test!!!
  3. Well done! How many Kerbal can fly this beast?
  4. That's a nice solution. Really clever and it looks cool. Maybe you can post a list of the mods so if anyone wants to try it, they can Keep up the good work. Flying wing are amazing. I still can't believe I never heard of them until last week
  5. That's awesome! It makes my plane look like a toy But that vertical stabilizer pointing down....doesn't touch the ground during takeoff or landing? Please post more screenshots
  6. Thanks Darth Lazarus. I didn't do anything for the vertical stabilization, actually. I added a reaction wheel, but that's just for landing. Otherwise, if you fly it, you will see some sideslip when turning. But that's not a problem to me. I imagined this plane for high altitude flying, with little to none changes in the flight path. I'll tell you more: this was only a test for my future SSTO with this design . The only things that I hid in the wings are...other wings. I needed to move the center of lift closer or the plane would just nose dive at about 7000m. BTW, nice plane! Is it only stock parts? It's awesome, especially the tail looks really good
  7. Updated the first post with the download links for both the standard and the no gears version as requested. I also added some instructions. Fly it and and let me know if you like it, if you hate it, if you have problem...anything
  8. Sure. You will have to wait til tomorrow, though. I'll release the two version. Right now, I got stuck with some IRL thing, so....just check it 12 hours from now. 24h tops
  9. After reading about flying wing aircraft in one of my Wikipedia session(you know, when you keep opening new articles until it's 2AM), I decided to try and build one in KSP. It required a lot of time to get everything right. It required also a lot of clipping, but I'mdefinitely happy with the result. It flies really well and also can go quite fast: I managed to get Mach 3,015 at about 20000 m. I only tried it with FAR, so I don't know how it will work with the stock aerodynamic. The only mod required is the fantastic B9 Aerospace. So, in conclusion, I proudly present you my finest creation, the Flying wing Mk.II (the first one was a total failure ) I'm not at home right now, but if someone wants i'll post the .craft file later with the instructions on how to fly it Instructions for takeoff: Brakes on, engase SAS. Then throttle up to about 1/3 and fire the engines. Release the brakes. When the plane gets to about 60 m/s, go to full throttle and start pulling up. You're now in the air. In-flight: Nothing specific. The engines are powerful enough to go straight up. They will flame-out at around 20000m (maybe a little higher depending on the speed). Just remember, at high altitudes, the plane will have a tendency to flatspin(that's because it doesn't have any rudder). If you feel you're losing control, reduce the throttle and activate RCS. Landing: It's a normal landing. You want to touch the ground under 80 m/s. You can use the airbrakes by pressing 3 Download: Flying wing Mk.II | Flying wing Mk.II(no gears)
