This is just a very simple patch that modifies the Rapier to act and behave just like a real world Nuclear rocket hybrid engine that just so happens to be based off the Sabre engine. sounds dull right? wrong! included in my mod is a craft that demonstrates how perprostrosly OP this engine can get, and i dare you to try. https://kerbalstuff.com/mod/372/The%20Atomic%20RAPIER
  3. Thanks, I'll give it shot later on today. If you see my patch on kerbal stuff @ 11pm tonight, then you know it works in ksp flawlessly on a Linux machine that is 6 years behind the times.
  4. cool, i am going to need some help with this one though.... and I apologize in advance, but I will not be able to reply for several days, so for now i will remove my "patch" from kerbalstuff. here is what I have thus far and will be testing for tonight (nov-25) and will add to kerbal stuff once it works.. @PART=[rapierEngine] { @description = The R.A.P.I.E.R.   5. Have i done a no no by modifying a .cfg for ksp related to the stock RAPIER engine and posting the modded config file on kerbal stuff? If so I will remove it, but how do I go about creating a plugin to change the stats of the engine? The end result I am aiming for is to modify the stock rapier to perform similar to a atomic rocket/jet engine hybrid without creating a new part. Only recently did I check the rules governing mods/plugins and I would prefer not to get into trouble.
  6. hi, i am currently trying to add a sabre function to a radial nuke engine made by 'Mysteel Callsignsaru'. I am not sure if just blatently copying the code for the RAPIER engine into the RN-614 medium .cfg file is right, but i have no other means of making the engine run just on IntakeAir in atmosphere and allow auto switching to liquid fuel for space. I know bigger mods allow thermal rockets (KSPI) or change the fuel type to hydrogen (Near future tech has that, i like that idea but the tanks that come with are not lander friendly and i suck at textures and moddling); but what i want to do is just have a basic lightweight 42kn radial busard ram nuclear engine for SSTO's, is that so much to ask?!
