  1. Question for the gallery - am I the only one who has this thread bookmarked, and checks it for new Tantares releases almost every time I open my browser?

This thread is about the only reason I go on this forum anymore. Other than to search for download links for certain mods I use. I like watching mods develop, but Tantares is about the only one that's really fascinated me.

  2. Well, I'd suggest taking into account that English isn't his first language. Maybe he wasn't meant to be so rude. Especially if he says "sorry if he sounds rude" in the same post.

Fair enough. I'm not fully convinced, but it's definitely a possibility that I misread because of language barriers. If negative tone was truly not intentional, I apologize for making assumptions.

  3. Cool things (Like LK, Kliper, PPTS) are cool. But what about IVA for the first and main spacecraft called Soyuz? Beale, you should not make everything, but you need to concentrate your attention on the one project, and make everything (IVA, models, textures etc.) for it.

Sorry for so rude reply, but I am really tired to wait for soyuz IVA.

Actually, he doesn't -need- to do anything, considering this is a hobby project and not his job. He doesn't make this mod for a living. He also doesn't do it for you specifically, so I recommend you check your entitlement. The IVAs will come. They're also not necessary for play. My missions have been going just fine without them.

  4. Everything seems to work for me, except for that the atmosphere is incredibly dense looking and too thick?

e: I fixed the issue by carrying over a previous EVE Overhaul folders from another .90 install. No idea what caused that.

Forgive me for this random intrusion, but I've installed this and some portions of Proot's KSPRC, just the EVE and BoulderCo folders, and I have this problem. I was wondering if anyone knows a fix? I've tried reinstalling both, but no dice.

  5. The one problem I have with this pack is that it feels too much like a "kit", like the Kerbin Shuttle Orbiter System.

    What?

I disagree entirely. With KSOS there's like one thing you can build, and that's the orbiter itself. There's barely any ability to make anything of your own. KSOS is beautiful, but also single-purpose. And that's what it's meant for. With Tantares, it's like a bunch of Russian-themed building blocks. You can make any spacecraft you want, you don't have to adhere to real life vehicles. Just look at the images people have posted. I myself have only ever used the Soyuz as a crew transport, because I like the Soyuz. The other bits I use to just make my own sh8t. I said earlier that Tantares can replace stock, and I meant it. You can do pretty much anything you want with these parts. The only KSOS bits I was able to use without constraints were the docking ports. Which I still think are really nice little things.

  6. I'm still not sure about that. A Titan-alike, or at least its engines could be good. Eh, we will see :)

Please do. Don't need a whole launcher, I don't think, but the engines would be so great. It would just bring Tantares that much closer to being able to replace stock parts. Not that it needs to, but it'd still be pretty kick-awesome to run a space program exclusively with Tantares parts. The more engines, the better.

  7. Love the aero overhaul, fueled wings, "warp to". And fairings! I'm really happy those are going to be stock. Apparently they'll be procedural, too, which is boss. ProcFairings is always like the first thing I install in a fresh game. Even if I'm not using NEAR/FAR. Fairings just make things look better. And there's a weird satisfaction I get from staging and watching parts tumble away.

But the one that really made me pump my fists in the air and make an embarrassing happy squeak sound was the addition of female kerbals.

  8. Hyper bole is my favorite bole.

    @CanadianVending...

    "Who knows?!"

We knows. Because the game is being made by humans. Played by humans. Based on humans. Features are exagerrated, proportions are changed, but they're still pretty obviously based on humans. They wear clothes, even. What purpose would sentient fungi have for clothes indoors?

  9. I'm not partial to it either, but it's silly. It's a game. A toy. Why does it matter so much? Why can't my Kerbals be androgynous? I use this... (key point: In general, male/female differences have been made more subtle.) All we need are some names, imho. But alas, they chose to reinvent the wheel.

If it doesn't matter, why can't my Kerbals be representative of my gender, too? They're not androgynous. They have buzzcuts, square jaws, male voices, male names, etc. "But they're not human! You're judging them based on human characteristics!" Yeah. So? Game's based on human spaceflight. I feel it's a completely valid criticism.
