  1. I know the new parts added in KSP 1.0.3 have some kind of an important function, but I have no idea what it might be. Occasionally I've seen parts overheat a bit, but mostly in reentry. In game the UI gives no clue as to how much heat is being radiated by the vents, if any, or why they might be used. Can anyone explain to me? I would like to be able to start using them in my new craft.
  2. Hey everyone, Not sure if this has been suggested yet, but when I sent my Galaxyprobe out of the Kerbol system in my most recent career mode game, I wanted to be able to do extra science being so far away from the sun. It seems no matter how far away from Kerbol I get though, the experiments only take data from "Space high over Kerbol," just the same as when I had barely left Kerbin's SOI. I would definitely like to see a new biome outside of the SOI of the sun (or maybe a certain distance outside of the Kerbol system limits), perhaps named either "deep space" or "interstellar space."
  3. Ok I managed to complete the mission after upping the terrain graphics from low to normal. It might have been because my Kerbonaut was stuck into the terrain halfway while he was walking
  4. Hey everyone, I've attempted the mission in question twice and I've so far lost two brave Kerbonauts to a Kracken hiding underneath the surface of Kerbin. While exploring the area Y-Y4 (one of three other tasks in the mission) I have had two Kerbonauts fall through the terrain and "crash." The first I had to walk a ways from the lander and he fell through at what I assume was the border of the mission area. The second landed safely, got out of his craft and fell through only when I attempted an EVA report to complete the mission. Any help in addressing this issue would be much appreciated.
  5. Hey all! I really like that Kerbal Space Program allows players to get into the helmets of Kerbals out in space and see the landscape from their eyes in the cockpits of manned spacecraft. Satellites and other unmanned spacecraft, unfortunately, do not now have that capacity. I would really like to see some kind of a camera which could be added to unmanned spacecraft to get an IVA view of space or of a planet below.
  6. Mission Planners. It's always frustrating to get a craft into orbit and then not know whether it's in a good position to reach, say, Duna. Real missions are planned well in advance so they know exactly how hard to burn, where and when. Other things I would like to see include life support. Also cameras to put on unmanned vehicles so you can actually get a look at the planets over which you're flying using the IVA mechanic. Maybe they could include some kind of science gain, too.
  7. Hey everyone, Been playing .24 since the day it came out and overall I'm very pleased with the way the Career mode is shaping up. I think it would be really cool if there was a wider variety of contracts in the future, and one idea I had was inspired by the priorities of real-life space agencies today: Satellites are big business for space programs and corporations, and it would be really cool for Kerbal corporations to pay the player's agency to put satellites, orbital stations, etc. into orbit around Kerbin, the Mün or other celestial bodies. The requirements might center around including certain parts, putting them at a certain orbital distance, or leaving them up for a certain amount of time. Not only would these contracts give added incentive to develop space, they would also result in less empty space around Kerbin, especially in career mode when money is tight and launching craft just for kicks doesn't always make sense financially.
  8. Even if we wanted to keep the "Kerbin" theme going, here are some more suggestions (similar names in parentheses): Kerbman (Kerbmann) Kerbinson (Kerbson) Kerbenmeyer (Kerbmeyer, Kerbmeier) Kerbowski Kerbez Kerbil I think it'd be really cool if some of the less-known Kerbals or randomly generated ones had a little more variety in their last names, even if they are all Kerbal-themed and have the word "Kerb" in them.
