Hey, i don't know if there are any plans for science tool to take surface samples (like for rovers or probes) but maybe such function could be added to Drill-O-Matic or Landing Strut parts?

I used Hitchhiker Storage Container for these missions - less parts, more kerbals in (ship cost was ~110k funds - just enough to go to sun orbit and right back). And also it's good to take as many fresh kerbals as you can on this missions because they get level 2 for it (2 exp for orbiting Kerbin and 6 exp for orbiting sun).
