Is there a way to reduce the amount of smoke produced while in atmosphere? With rockets that have multiple engines my FPS drop to around 20 - 26 after firing them for a while and I am certain it is because of the smoke. -
Nah, my question is more about the way KSP code works. I had an idea for a plugin that would require me to access that sort of stuff and I'm just wondering if Squad simply attached objects to each other using the default Unity system or if they coded their own systems for that kind of stuff. I'll probably look into it tomorrow anyway if I have some time

One question really: Are the spacecraft parts attached to each other purely in Unity's scene hierarchy or are their connections kept somewhere else too? I know I could check this myself if I wrote a simple plugin, but I don't really have the time to mess around with it right now and it'd be far more useful to have someone who already knows this stuff tell me.
