Is the only difference in unmanned command modules the torque power? Probodobodyne QBE for small rocket and RC-L01 Remote Guidance Unit for large? Why is there dedicated sas-parts if they are included in command pods and probes?
Why doesnt game have storage vessels for parts etc for space station construction? Its silly that parts are built directly on the rocket and that building doesnt break in athmosphere.
I think I understand basics now, but it was pretty hard. Aerodynamics is extremely complicated for me. Thanks for patience for everyone. I have FAR mod, and there is FAR button which opens graphs, numbers etc. Is it neccesary to understand those?
Thanks for explanation, but another detail raised question. "The further back the CoL, the more aggressively the airflow tries to hold it behind the CoM" Why doesnt CoL behind flip the plane from back to forward if it can flip plane backwards if CoL is in front of CoM?
I appreciate good explanations here, but still 1 issue is beyond understanding. If leverage (elevon) is best at distance from CoM, how can I have opposite effect when I moved wings (CoL) closer to CoM? Naturally closer wing has controller closer to CoM and having positive effect on pitch is contradictory with leverage principle.
Yeah I know that, but I had this delta wing plane with elevons, and first it couldnt pitch at all, then moved wings closer to CoM which naturally moved controller = elevon closer to CoM and plane pitched well. I dont understand.
I though pitch is most powerful when CoL is as far from CoM as possible, and previous model had CoL about same position as CoT and plane couldnt pitch or roll at all. Then I moved CoL close to CoM and pitch and roll was good. Plane still didnt seem to turn as fast as with canards which turned place in 3-4 seconds, elevon model turned 180 in 7 seconds.
I tried similar build as picture 2 removing canards from plane, but plane couldnt pitch or turn. Another question, why picture 1 has two controllers in wing?
