  1. I have a feature add request (i.e. a body addition). I'd like to add the real life asteroid Bennu. The OSIRIS-REx team just published a beautiful mosaic photo of Bennu that is already in polar coordinate. I can provide a real 3rd model - data taken by the OSIRIS-REx spacecraft and published on asteroidmission.org, and real orbital data (provided by JPL, updated by OSIRIS-REx). I have tried on my own to do this, but only gotten so far as to get all the orbital parameters correct, zero success in decoding the voodoo of puting heightmaps together or texturing (I am not a photoshop person, been trying to do this with GIMP/Paint.NET/Photofiltre..... obviously there are some secrets to using those tools not shared.) Photo mosaic of Bennu: https://www.asteroidmission.org/bennu_global_mosaic/ Complete height data as 0.75m lidar data (OBJ and STL format - not really "map" ready these have been tailored to 3d printing a scale model): https://www.asteroidmission.org/updated-bennu-shape-model-3d-files/ Latest (or most precise - most decimal points) orbital & physical data: https://ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/sbdb.cgi#top (search for "bennu" in the search box, no direct linking) I spent 4 or 5 days on this and am frustrated, time to just call in the pros.
  2. Does not appear to be fully working with 1.8.1.2694 using Real Solar System. In the KSC,mission selector, launchpad, etc it works but once in mission it still shows "1951-365" (year-day_of_year instead of "1951-12-31"), have not tested in any other version or mods.
  3. Scott, I've been watching your videos for a while and while I know you can't make a video for every request but I was wondering if you would do a "science" video on the privatization of space. Mostly I am curious if you would touch base a little deeper than the surface articles CNN does on stuff like (feel free to pick others this is just an idea): LOIRP and the new (old from 1966) photos of the moon (http://www.cnn.com/2014/07/30/world/hackers-nasa-lunar-photos/index.html?hpt=hp_c3). ISEE-3/ICE (http://xkcd.com/1337/ and http://www.planetary.org/blogs/emily-lakdawalla/2014/02070836-isee-3.html) I hate to sound overly enthusiastic, but it seems that the public might just be *interested* in space again, and honestly we have KSP and you to thank quite largely for that. I'd just like to give you a huge thank you for all that you have done. Brain75
