    Insanitic's post in Parachutes Autocut Midair Only Over water (RealChutes) was marked as the answer   
    UPDATE. I found that this part: 
     
    was the thing that was causing me problems with the chute autocutting prematurely. All other parachutes from RealChute are working fine.
