If you have the tool bar mod active there should be a button that hides it.

I spent most of my Saturday hunting down a problem with the hex map disappearing on me...turns out it was from a Tarsier science pack I got. It looked like it was removing all the references to anything kethane and leaving the parts and toolbar buttons. BUT IT WORKS NOW WOOOOO
