  1. I'm loving this. Aerobraking into Jool was jaw-dropping. My only issue is an odd dust(?) effect around moho - there is a rapidly moving cloud of dust that extends a few planet diameters off the surface? Did I screw something up somehow? Can I turn just that effect off?
  2. I think this is a bad idea, if only because now " I landed on Tylo" has a different meaning for everyone. 5% is a lot of difference for thrust and fuel use. A long time ago I read Squad was considering making randomized solar systems, but decided against it for that very reason - it makes it hard to share your accomplishments and techniques with the community. Maybe just stick to reputation/funds/science? Or Jeb can't fly more advanced ships until he has mastered simple ones? (This would be tricky, could do it by crew cockpit type, or by engine used) How about making them better "miners" of whatever the resources is going to be? Thats a part of the simulation where personal experience might matter. Maybe if you used Jeb to fulfill a bunch of Kerbodyne contracts, they would pay him more for the next one since they know he will get it done? Just keep it away from the physics.
  3. This is what I want to do. I have tried every combination of struts, rad attachment points, docking ports, etc that I can think of, but still no luck. Is there some trick to this? I am trying to build a small surface station with a central vertical tower, and horizontal fuselage "walkways" out to smaller vertical towers. I have done this using separate launches and a rover to position the parts as seen on the "Modular Base Design" thread, but there must be some way to get this done in the VAB, right? I don't care if it doesn't come apart, it will never be disassembled once launched.
  4. So, I'm trying to build small surface station featuring a central vertical tower, and radially attached fuselages connecting to smaller vertical towers. Its easy to build a vertical structure, stick radial attachment points or cubic struts, and attach the horizontal fuselage sections. However no matter what I try, I cannot get it to connect to the second vertical tower structure. I have tried: radial attachment points, docking ports, cubic struts in various configurations, and screaming at the screen in frustration. This is the connection I want to make. Is there some clever technique that will let me do this?
