  1. While I wouldn't call Uber a scam he does have a point. I was not particular impressed with what happened to PA. It succeeded in being a cool concept/premise but as far as the state of the launched version it has yet to become a good RTS game that was worth the money, at least for me. Just from that I will be waiting until I see the reviews before I throw money down for Human Resources. I attribute this dissapointment to having a lot of the time and energy that went into alpha/beta development to build an engien from scratch and dealing with all the problems that multiple spherical maps have. Because of this less time was spent on things like UI, Unit Creation and balancing etc that are really importent for a good RTS. I am hoping that this new team can use the groundwork laid by the PA team (as IIRC they are working in the same engine) as a leg-up to make Human Resources really good. From experience UberEnt is great at coming up with really good ideas for games and not so great at actually delivering a good game from it.
  2. Well that's going onto my watch list! I hope the film is more like Gravity/2001SO and my fear is it will end up begin more like After Earth but it's got Nolan so it can't be that terrible. Also from the looks of things the earth is in a future dust bowl scenario. The expedition sounds like it must have been thrown together out what was left of a space race of the future kind of like how Half-life 2 did their rocket stuff? Also I'm almost certain that the Saturn V that was shown was for crew transport/finishing touches cause there is no way that ship went up in one rocket.
  3. Interesting survey. Would it be prodding to much to ask what this course is for or what you are doing at Uni?
  4. Hello Forum people! Ive been lurking on this forum for about a week or so now after picking up the game and figuring I would look at it's community. This is the first forum I have ever really joined onto besides Reddit and it is quite a bit different so I'm excited. Anyway I bought the game a few weeks ago (just before it went on sale. ) and so far I am not sure where to start? I tried out sandbox mode and felt a little overwhelmed by the amount of stuff there. I'm just not sure where to start really. I noticed that this game also a very large active modding community that's grown around it, is there anything I should consider picking up to start out with?
