Why on earth would I ever recommend MM change the contents of of the patch files themselves? Seems like a recipe for disaster. While I've never dealt with self-modifying code myself, I can only imagine the headaches that could happen when trying to debug it (or extend another person's SMC).

This really made me cringe looking back. I apologize for the super passive-aggressive post back in 2016, and for (presumably, I don't quite remember if I fixed the issue that caused that rant) being a DenverCoder9 once I fixed the issue myself.
