I'm formally inviting you to our Role-Playing Game.
-
Everyone should post examples of the Roleplay here, so they might have an idea what it's like/
-
I have tested your frigate. For the partcount and style and considering its a very compact design, I think it's a very sexy ship but its weak
-
Damn I love that tank
-
Want to fight? give me the best ship you got.
-
Sure, just post me what results you got. I haven't thoroughly tested it for any particular weak spot.

Gentlemen, I present to you the KRATON, a better version of the BASIL. Craft File: https://www./?dvozwz5nc62dfcx K.R.K.N. (Kraken Technologies) Class: "Heavy Cruiser/Battlecruiser" Name: "Kraton" Model: 11 Cost: 516,141 Part Count: 585 parts Total Mass: 153.8 tons Armament: Equipped with six (6) "Tirepedoes" (Specially developed Tire Warheads). Missiles can be used as long range cruise missile (for ship interception) or direct fire (for close-encounters). Equipped with two (2) direct shot heavy I-beam missiles or close combat. (Heavy variant). It can be equipped with additional armament easily depending on the need. Armor and Constuction: Basic rigid structure with overall triple layered armor. Quadruple layered armor near the center but Five (5) Layers of armor at the Probe Core together with strut reinforcements. Can take up to and estimated 3-4 critical hits before going down built using a newly developed Hull-Fuel-Engine construction. A compartmentalized combination that acts as the whole reactive armor. Plus external struts which gives it strength and flexibility. Powerplant and Propulsion: 8 thermoelectric generators with solar panels. Multiple aerospike engines (8 exposed) plus hidden engines (top secret technology) with basic fuel. Notes: press 1 to toggle solar panels and 2 to toggle engines. Description: Next iteration of the former Battlecruiser BASIL but with a different core/hull configuration plus multiple engine layout (classified technology in use) which will still function and move even of the engine cluster of the ship is damaged. This is a Fourth (4th) generation heavy duty starship of the Kraken Faction which now serves to protect it's sovereignty. It's a slightly tougher version of the BASIL which can shrug off tirepedoes easily.

I really like the center ship. Hold on let me post my latest ship.
-
Been working on ship designs and things are not going well, I'm dry of new ideas.
-
Is Panzer1b still on? My laptop is fixed, I've acquired a new charger, updated my KSP version and finally settled in a new house. It's pretty comfy in my new home, I'm back on build mode so watch out.
-
So where is everybod
-
Tournament? What tournament? I haven't seen much posts here after the forum migration. Anyone care to update me? btw can you send me a link on Zekes new RP?
-
Is this still active?
-
I'm back! starting to get settled in the new house. The New Forum layout is hard to get used to. I really felt like everything changed.
-
Times, are changing fast... Due to the forum updates I will lose the Kraken Technologies Company page, AND I'M RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF OUR TRANSFER OF RESIDENCE! BYE BYE OLD HOUSE! I'mma make a new Home. I'm sad, so sad. Anyways I will pop that new ship of the AKS when I'm done moving. Imma lose all my craft files and all that hard made pages.

There is only one good use for clipping, and I'm not going to say how to properly use it, for now I'll keep it a secret. It's just recently dawned on me, I have a revolutionary new idea for my ship. I'm going to try and convince my parents to give me additional money for me to buy a new laptop. Just be ready for me, maybe it will take 1-2 months from now but until then I can't make any new ships as my rig can't run KSP 1.0.4 properly, but I already have 1.0.5 ready for installment So for now I'm going to observe what happens here and take note of any new developments. Be wary of K.R.K.N. fleet.

Your standards are way to high for a low part count ship, I'm usually just happy to have a ship that could survive the first shot. Then it's all out firestorm from my ship towards the enemy ship. I'll just cross my fingers that it would survive until I can neutralize the enemy. It's not about winning, it's about enjoying the slugfest for me. Parts flying off a damaged ship is priceless.
-
I'll take that as a compliment The only thing I need to do the BASIL is to lower the part count and make a more compact design. I used to fear that dreaded Drek silhouette, it still puts me on my toes whenever I see it.

I have an advice, I already passed this. I suggest you to use the original parts as the core of your ship, by that I mean parts that were there since the beginning of the development of the game, why? because I bet that the physics and computations involved with them has not been changed compared to the other newly added parts. That way you will have a reliable base hull or sturdy core. I suggest you use the new parts outside and away from the center. Another suggestion. Always build crafts that will last even if the game will have updates. So do not use new parts excessively. So when your crafts you can easily update them (or even rebuild them from scratch but still the same form) but with reliability (Just like we all rely on the Structural beam as cores for most of our ships, do you get what I mean?) Look at my BASIL, I used all the parts that could be probably used as armor. Using fuel tanks as padding inside and sandwiched between armor plates/wing plates is a "timeless design". I treat everything as an expendable part, I don't consider fuel tanks as things you need to protect (I can see you are still stuck with this idea in your ships, trust me I was there. You desperately still try to protect vulnerable parts) Remember, "treat every part as expendable" the only thing you need to protect is the engines itself and the core nothing more (unless you have multiple engines that could still function when hit). The rest is secondary and disposable. Considering you tested my BASIL with flame weapons (Which is an old weapon actually) I only need to update it by protecting it using the new parts such as the heat shields and covering the engines (I admit, I kind of designed it lacking protection on the engines so that's my fault) Use a hull configuration that is simple and basic, anything that has three or more core parts (Like three (3) girders is dangerous, two (2) is safe) this considerably eliminates the 'Kraken Wobble Bug". My Atlantis and Aurora is very susceptible to this but I learned later on. This concepts though limits the ship you are about to build to certain sizes cause if you try to build anything bigger it gets weaker. I build the core of my ships using one (1) part as core, yes that's right one (1) this is the only part that when destroyed will kill my ship at once (That's why it can still be one shotted) but I try to protect and pad that dreaded part with as many things as I can. So you can't really cut my ship in two, either that or it's completely dead. Since zekes made a new powerful piercing weapon I need to rethink my designing pattern. So basically competition is bringing this game forward. So my ships survivability will rely on how accurate and how deep a piercing capability of the weapon used against it will be. By the way I use a single plate armor as my core part then build from there in a torus fashion (If you get what I mean). I think the Drek also used only two Girders only as core nothing more so it's strong. That's my design paradigm, I got into this game when part count was not an issue for me. That's why I have high part count ships. It's not about who has more on the field or stronger ships (You try to design low part count ships but in battle we actually mostly field a max of 3 vs 3 ships), It's about having reliable ships then develop from there. I guess I could say that the Drek as a "reliable" ship, I think that's the secret of it's success. Most of us create designs trying to innovate but I guess we are pretty much limited with the starting parts. Unless that's changed our game will still be the same. It took me a 2-3 months to stay away from KSP, its a very long break then it hit me. So consider this advice a gold mine. Ahh I have come a long way since the beginning, I can't even believe I used fuel tanks as core of my earliest ships.

Goddammmnnn... *Salute (Hi I'm back! what's up?)
-
Lol! ( I feel like the debris of my BASIL is filling up the vastness of space, but I'm pretty much sure that the Drek has more parts flying about the void )
-
Yep, pretty much common sense. Guess the BASIL needs a little upgrade on armor and more protection on the engines to sort her out properly for the new advancements (Like the flamethrowers, and zekes all new heavy missiles) I was actually thinking of using heatshields on my next iteration of my ship, using a combination of fuel tanks, wing armor, plate armor and heatshields (one big reactive armor). I already had plans but since 1.0.5 came out I want to know if it works. I'm an excellent armor developer so I have ideas hidden under my sleeves (though initially I was weak in developing sturdy hulls on where the armors go). Hehe.. Guess, I accidentally have acquired additional firepower then. They were already lethal even before. May I remind you that even though you might feel secure you are not. Since most of use just ignore I-beams nowadays. Those heavy I-beams are my secret weapons actually, while my tirepedoes are used for brute force attacks (that's why you can see them stashed in the center of the BASIL for maximum protection). While they were for precision strikes, they are not unlike your conventional light I-beams they were made for piercing through ships but with more punch and surefire way to kill things. I can say that they the the "tirepedo" equivalent of the I-beam missiles. I think it's fair game. The game is constantly evolving so there's nothing we could do but adapt. BTW WHY DO YOU KEEP TESTING MY SHIP? PLEASE ALSO USE YOURS.
-
Fuel Tanks, liquid sacks of "push me".
-
Ok, I take back what I previously said. That ship looks gorgeous (Is it a girl lol) anyways, from this view the front (which I assume the bridge) looks amazing.

Banned for going to fast on Dres. (If you know what I mean)
