  1. The tricky part is safely landing something where even the slightest twitch significantly increases your speed. Parachutes are one solution, the other is to break off all your winglets like I did. I'd like to see how you did 6 km/s though. That sounds insane.
  2. Ah, yes, the infiniglider. I sure will miss it. I went back to my original infiniglider, the Pixie Stick. Turns out, landing is kinda hard in one of these. But, with a few modifications (including a cage to prevent terrified Kerbals from escaping, those slippery devils protect the valuable pilot), the Pixie Stick flies again! I got her up to 1513 m/s and landed Mr. Kerman safely afterward. My pilot seems a little shaken after the experience.
  3. Wowza, 507 m/s. That'll be a challenge to beat. I made another attempt, this time using patented double-centrifuge technology. (Meanwhile at the astronaut complex, many recruits breath a sigh of relief when the High-G training machine mysteriously goes missing.) Sadly, I couldn't beat Juzeris's record tonight. But, after trying a lot and killing many kerbals, I improved my speed to 398 m/s. Here's the machine. The main centrifuge shoots off two mini-centrifuges. Then, in mid air, I spin these up and fire again to increase my speed. Smart, right? I thought so. The lucky test subject, Wilbart, at top speed. And finally, Wilbart is free. Also, You seem to be mistaking me for my stripper alter-ego.
  4. I enjoy breaking things. Anyway, here's a shot I took of Thompble out in space. I think it should suffice.
  5. I got to escape velocity pretty easily using the "unlimited" rules. My strategy was "moar". I got Minmus escape at 306 m/s. These pictures should make it pretty obvious how I did it. The launcher: Immediately after launch: Technically 6 projectiles were shot off, but only one missed the cliffs and actually escaped Minmus.
  6. Sounded like a fun challenge, so I gave it a go. Below is a video of my attempt (with some fast-forwarding and quickloads and not-the-best recording software) Total Time: 13:36 Plane leg: 3:19 Rover leg: 5:30 Ship leg: 2:05 Rocket leg: 1:55 All vehicle transfers: 0:47 All vehicles are completely stock. Hyperedit was used to put vehicles into their starting positions. I may have used a missile to transfer Jeb between the boat and the rocket. I didn't see any rules that said I couldn't... Anyway, here it is: I give it another shot later-I think I can knock off another minute. Also, cool challenge. I'd suggest incorporating rocket cars in the next one, since wheel-powered rovers are a bit limited.
  7. I was flying a spacecraft in Mun orbit when the word "discard" in tiny text flew across my screen, behind my craft. It was too quick for me to get a screenshot or even be really sure I was actually seeing it. Is there any explanation for this or am I just going crazy?
