  1. Currently testing a hydrofoil style underbelly to see if that solves the problem
  2. I was thinking of using a VERY heavy RCS system and maybe radial mount parachutes, Im currently testing this idea with my Arkbird. Oh and the front half of the cockpit is on its way into deep space with fuel to spare
  3. I highly doubt i could mount more than 3 in a line, let alone get airborne..... This is if the aircraft even GETS to the water, if it can even LAND in the water..... ALSO! Development Screenshots! Underbelly shot showing the reinforcement and fuel lines. Above shot showing the massive/horrofying engines Head on shot to scare the living crap out of you. Results of a disasterous test flight have given me a brilliant idea Suggestions on how to avoid disintegration when i hit the water are much appreciated Oh and here is the reference image im using for scale. I feel the engine pods are too large
  4. I dont have any missiles aside from a few small SRBs i could use. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moskit Missiles that the Lun class carried Oh and the russian government is planning to have more Lun class built
  5. if i can find a way to mount 6x5ton missiles at an angle yet still be able to take off
  6. Update on 'Object 392' Object 392 will be a large ground effect vheicle in the style of the Lun-class ekranoplan (AKA Caspian Sea monster) At this early stage i can confirm this will be about the height of the launch tower and easily the most powerful and complex machine ive ever attempted.
  7. Well there goes the theory 'If it looks like it will fly, it probably will' I know of a 30 story block of flats near me that looks like it could fly better Ill need to download this and give it a bash. Very interesting design however, I cant wait to see the rest of the TA- Series. The engine pods remind me of some of the old soviet ekranoplan designs. Oh my good God. IDEA!
  8. Ive got an idea! We agree that the designs look similar out of coincidence and we can stop bumping our posts/spamming
  9. Maybe im just good 8) The way you said it, It sounded like only you could possibly come up with that idea. Updating performance stats as we speak.
  10. To be honest, Aside from the engines i cant see any resemblance as 'Object 421' is a Triplane
  11. Cant say ive seen it before. Implying im stealing peoples ideas now ?? O_O And the Object names are only palceholders to be honest.
  12. Yeah, im trying to get away from that but please remember, ive only been playing KSP for a week or two.
  13. Not to mention i have hardly any machines justnow, I intend to live up to my bold claims of size and range
  14. Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
  15. All of my spaceplanes are capable of spaceflight, By Design or accident
  16. Development of the KS-71 Airframe has moved to 'Suspiciously Large Interplanetary Transport Vehicle Manufacturers' http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=5641.0 Locking thread for 2 days then deleting. Thank you for everyones help thus far.
  17. I suppose your here for a good reason.... Not just industrial espionage. This will be the thread where i post all of my aircraft and update on the devlopment of the airframes Sit down and pay attention, there will be a test at the end. (all aircraft use C7 parts and Tiberions C7 auxiliary parts) http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=4435.0 'Arkbird' series The first aerial vehicle produced by SLITVM for the purpouse of in atmosphere exploration. Capable of low orbit with minimal payload. Provides exceptional capabilities for its size and unit cost. Performance. Maximum Speed at 10,000m: 580m/s 1279mph Maximum flight time at 100% Throttle (10,000m): Aproximately 7 minutes Service ceeling: 30,000ft Powerplant: 1x C7 Aerospace AX-301. Variants: Arkbird Mk1 Mod 0: Standard production aircraft. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=0HF8GPC0 Arkbird Mk1 Mod 1: VSTOL (Currently in flight testing phase) No Images are availible at this time http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PB9EKC79 Arkbird Mk1 Mod 2: Equipped with 2x C7 Aerospace AX-301 Engines http://www.megaupload.com/?d=TN5JAGNL Arkbird Mk2 Three engine advanced Arkbird design. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=B69OSUNJ Arkbird Mk3 Hyper advanced bleeding edge design based on the Arkbird airframe. More or less a totaly new aircraft. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9JEFNM5V 'KS-71' series Based on blueprints originally belived to be mythical found on the mun. If you need photographs in the blink of an eye, this is the airframe for you. Designed for pure maximum speed and reconisance. A very unstable aircraft under 15,000m with attrocious handiling. Performance skyrockets above 20,000m becoming one of the most stable SLITVM Airframes. Maximum speed (30,000m) 4457m/s Endurance at Full throttle (30,000m): Classified Cruising speed (30,000m): Indefinite Service ceeling: 35,000m Powerplant: 2x Afterburning C7 Aerospace AX-301 Variants: KS-71. Standard production model. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7HGAEFE6 KS-71-4. Proposed 4 engine KS-71, Currently in development phase No Images are availible at this time KM-21. Modified Ks-71 carrying the D-21 Hypersonic reconisance drone. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=EH0OHZX7 'Object 421' Proposed Hyper-Long range airframe with loitering capabilities. Side view Endurance at full thottle: 28 minutes. Crusing altitude 25,000m Maximum speed: 822m/s Flight characteristics worse than expected, Endurance and glide abilities are much better than expected. Projected Development: Balance wings to improve stability. Consider reducing overall power to increace endurance and stability. 'Object 392' (Kaspian Sea Monster) Prototype large Ground effect vheicle No further information is availible at this time.
  18. The construction isnt the problem, tis getting an incredibly un-airworthy machine into orbit.
  19. Yeah, im a few more days tinkering away from a stable orbit Actually the inclined surface aera provides enough stability
  20. This is the best ive managed so far Attempting to gain orbit Head on shot Dropping low into the atmosphere Burning back out again Sustained damage from unknown source Screw you Blaze
  21. The KS-71 is gonna look a hell of allot better really soon! http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=1172.750 Sr-71 style aerospikes amongst other nice things comming soon
  22. Ok! The KM-21 Whitebird Baisically its a KS-71 with a D-21 'Drone' mounted ontop to improve thrust. Oh and LANDING SKIDS!!!! This is the reason why i use skids instead of wheels Due to the extreme relative weight of the required decoupler, the drone is fixed to the aircraft. Added struts to the underside of the wing to increace structural strength And now for the .craft! http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UEOB2BTX Have fun testing my planes for me!
