How to multitask while burning engines?

Hi all, I just noticed during a long burn that game time in KSP pauses when switching to other programs. Is it possible to override this? It would be very useful to be able to check flight plans and prepare for next phases of flight while still using the time to burn engines. Thanks! Fly safe, Dalek_Caan
