  1. Such career options really changed all the KSP experience for me.

Especialy at start while dealing with low ground installations, parts count and cost.

    Safety become all a budget!

It is not that harsh in end but make every step more "interessing" in a way.

    --- My path

    I go slowly, hoping surely.

Ship design and mission planning become very different.

Usualy I go with 1-3 prototype before having 1st in-prod version. Making a lot of test about launch/stage stability, parachutes efficiency before painting a proud "Approuved" on the ship/subpart design. I record more my flight, the safe reentry attempt I gradually lower.

    Yep, very slowly!

And sometimes I still overestimate my good old trusted model and run into very emotional situations. Typicaly when launching a lander which dont have any parachute... And things gone wrongly! I have a few miracle survivor from such bad scenario.

But aircraft still The Danger, no doubt. Always my FAG department (Famous And Glorious), reserved to the most fearless* Kerbals.

    * or brainless. Distinguish inbetween is so hard!

  2. ...the game seems to have bug after bug after bug...

No offense but as often within IT, most bugs are somewhere between the keybord and the chair!

I dont have noticed real "bug" in stock game after hundreds of hour (while you start a new after an upgrade, we are there talking about the 0.90).

    About your contract issue,

you have to match the requirements (they are showed even in flight on the contract board)

and to test the related part at this time (by activate them through staging, some parts have also a "test" option in their contextual menu).

That said if you really think facing a bug, attach your savegame in your post so people can check what's happend.

Keep going, KSP is really a great experience.

  3. Damn' I never thinked once it could have been a real accident!! ^^

The whole talking thing as you said is a full job, acting. It is really hard if you dont have learn the basis.

To be honest, I cant remember any video where it was successfuly done... YouTuber's talking are usually pathetic and just kill their video doing so.

(Your own is not "lamer" than what we can see in other vid's ;o)

But whatever your narrative choice, the most important is having something to say. A storyboard is a very good way to build your scenario.

As you intend to go for "little movie", talking will be even harder along the clock. You have to carefully spare your speech along your timeline.

Void is your enemy. But worst than Void is filling in the blanks (more exactly...when people see you are doing so!). You have to play with blanks. Dont forget that image speak too.

    Good luck in your project.

    @bout your technical issue,

It is very common that 1 part of the group appears "unlinked" in the staging but this lead only to a little asynchronous start.

In your case, you have 1 vertical separator inside your launching stage so... Little staging mistake!

Also you have your chutes and escape system in the same stage. They have a high chance to break during the process. I suggest you to separate them.

  4. To be honest, without offense, this first attempt is lame.

But dont be afraid, it is very common!

    The good leg, the story.

Man can feel a story is coming. The intro does his job, the good old Charlie ambience is in-place and man is ready to hear more.

    The broken leg, the speech.

Horrible. Sure, it is a hard job, but really... Horrible.

The silent movie's way could have been a far better option, which also offer you a nice playground with camera effect.

But more important, this option would have give the vid' a nice coherence.

    Keep going!

  5. Sure, sorry for my english.

So, as you can see in the log, I have a pretty experienced kerbal with his 10 flight.

But in the Astronaut complex (the KSC building), his log (when you select him) only show "Flight at Kerbin = 1". So there is a little mistake somewhere.

A minor bug, but still a bug! ;o)

    ============ Edit ============

Well, well... Maybe it is not a bug and just a lack of knowledge from me ;o)

After a little read about how Experience works, I now see the famous Flight Log in another way.

As the xp gain is only 1 peer celestial body, so maybe the log only show the flight which gave the xp.

But it would make more sense if the log show also the right number of flight in my mind. A log that show our kerbals career path!

  6. The report was about the Flight Log which only say "Flight at Kerbin = 1".

The xp gain was just an question, any idea how may look the progress's curve.

I cant upload but there the concerned part in persistent.sfs:
