I had the same issue. What I did, isntead of getting the 8k by 4k texture "pack" for realism, I went with one step below. It worked fine. No issues. The 8k by 4k would work if you were to play the 64 bit version (which supports more RAM). The 64 bit version, however, is quite bugged and will not start if you have all those mods installed (I've tried).

Ah cool.Oh also, is there a way to minimize the planets? They are too big for me atm. I like all the mods, but it feels pointless when I can only reach orbit I want to start easy (with the mods). I tried downloading all the mods but the big planet mod for a clean version of KSP. It didn't work very well. Nothing was optimized and tweakscale did not work very well a lot of things were messed up. So I am turning to you, is there a way to remove/disable the big planet add-on?

What is 10X Kerbol config? Is it 10x the size? Or 10X... well I don't know... Anyway... What is it. If it kerbal size, where do I find it?

FOUND THE GUIDE (main post). Wee, launched my first Satellite into orbit.. Was not easy.. but it is there.

Any tutorial to help me get into orbit? I either seem to blow up in the atmosphere (deadly reentry truly shines there), OR I don't get high enough to get into orbit ;-( I want to know how to build a stable rocket. Thank you! Oh also, how are you guys dealing with the RAM issues for the 32 bit? Any parameters or have you lowered the graphics a bit?

Hey. When I tried downloading from CKAN. Some of the mods in the pack will return "forbidden" and will fail and ultimately crash CKAN. These are the following mods that return the follow error: RealSolarsystem, Deadlyreentry, Procfairings, Tweakscale and CustomBiomes. I will keep retrying until ... oh nvm... seems to be fixed now. I just installed all... Well anyway. IT was a temporary issue. Some files may be corrupt. I shall take it out for a spin and see how it fairs.

Hey. I am loving this pack. However, the size of kerbin makes it really hard for me to play as I haven't mastered the normal solar system yet. Is there a way to maybe tone down the massive solar system to kerbal size? I tried removing the Solar system mod, but then the game wouldn't start. Oh also, The game seem to run out of memory really quickly unless I add the -force-opengl parameter to steam. However, this makes the edges ragged. Is there a better way to reduce the amount of RAM the MODs use? (I tried using 64 bit KSP, but that would not even start ;( ) Thanks, Hoaz.

*facepalm* No, I am very well aware of that. But I was telling him "How am I using too much ram" and then I stated how much RAM I currently have installed, as the RAM is an important piece of information regarding issues. Now, the RAM was never the problem in this case either. It was corrupt files and I have since fixed the issue.

how am I using too much ram? I have 18GB of ram.. more than enough lol... and I fixed the issue. IT was corrupt files.

EDIT: During initialization of the real solar system it will always crash on Editing body: Duna (6/17) PQS Duna. Always. EDIT2: no longer crashes on Duna (6/17) PQS Duna. Now gets stuck on Editing body: Eeloo (11/17) PQS Eeloo Add PQSMod_VertexColorMapBlend. Worth noting that it doesn't crash here, it just .. doesn't initialize. EDIT 3: it seems to be random, but mostly crashes on 11/17 now. Do you need the error.log or the out_putlog? please help! ;-) Thanks, Hoaz.

HI! I have run into an issue. Whenever I launch the game it'll go through the Real solar system process (where it applies the addon, you can see stuff happening in the background). But it always crashes at the same spot in the process. I need help. Du you want the error.log or the output_log.txt?

Hey, I managed to 'solve' the issue. As I believed it was TIMED based, I figured if I redo it over and over again eventually all the files will be cached and it'll carry on straight to the installing process, which it did! After 4 or so tries I had finally installed all the required mods. Despite the fact that I solved it. IT is just a temporary solution and should be looked into regardless.

Step 1) Get a fresh install of KSP (delete everything in steam folder and reinstall) Step 2) put CKAN.EXE in the installation folder of KSP Step 3) MAKE SURE you throttle your download speed to say 1 mb/s for CKAN.exe Step 4) Run CKAN.exe, REFRESH and find your way to "Realism Overhaul" Step 5) Check the "installed" box and press "go to changes" Step 6) Press Continue on the first page Step 6.1) Uncheck the TACLS on the second page and proceed step 6.2) Make sure nothing is checked on the third page and proceed Step 7) Wait and pretend it is a normal process.. Towards the end of the download (sometimes it can carry into the installation process) The error posted earlier will pop up. Prompting you to dismiss it. Pressing dismiss will crash CKAN.exe. KSP version 0.90 - Steam edition WIN 7 64 BIT 18 GB DDR3 1600 Mhz (yes I have more than enough space to download the mods) I believe it is a timed error. Good luck! Sincerely, Hoaz.

Hey. it still persists, but there is something peculiar about it. So, I tried downloading something on steam at the same time and , of course, my download went significantly down on CKAN (as expected)... but the error still happened. This time it happened a lot earlier into the download. The error seems to be based on time. After a certain amount of time has passed the error I posted above will pop up. Of course, downloading larger packs like the Realism Overhaul would prompt me that error. Is there anything you could do? Thanks! also, I will post a ticket just in-case ;-) EDIT: Sorry, I cannot make a ticket because I am not a registered member on github. I certainly hope you'll notice this post! Thanks.
