  1. KER has not yet been officially updated, but there is a dev build for MechJeb2 that's compaitble with 1.4. Since (if I'm not mistaken) KER uses data from MJ, it might work.

Found this handy list on Reddit showing which mods have been updated and which are known to be broken:

  2. In an attempt to counter-balance the usual whining about slight inconveniences that comes with every update ever since 1.0, I'd like to thank the devs (and everybody else who worked on this) for all their hard work they put into the update. I'm sure that the small issues will be ironed out with the next patch and we get to enjoy the new improvements to this amazing game.

Also big thanks to all the modders out there who tirelessly keep creating and updating numerous, incredible additions to the game that allow us mere mortals with absolutely zero programming skillz to tailor the game to their needs.

    Going back to play now.

Omg, who hasn't had that monkey on their back? Lol.

That and Prison Architect. Ate up about a year of my life!

Oh yes, good old Prison Architect. And Aircraft CEO and Sim Airport are not helping much either. :)

  4. Burned out on KSP after I accidentally crashed an interplanetary shuttle into my Duna orbital base at about 350 m/s and hit F5 instead of holding F9 Afterwards. Haven't really played for more than 6 months, but kept watching vids on youtube and reading the forums though. Also, I got sucked into Rimworld pretty bad. But it'S nice to come back after a break.

In 2013, when i first meet KSP, it was something really new and unusual. I played almost 600 hours between 0.23 and 1.0 and it was really fun. I read DevNotes every week in anticipation of new cool stuff. But then hit a black line between 1.0 and 1.1 - lack of updates, lack of mods ( a lot of my favorite mods was abandoned) DevNotes become boring. Hype is ended, literally. Then 1.1 was released and broke everything, first of all - legacy shaders was removed and i couldn't play. Then BD armory and a lot of relative mods was abandoned. Then i heard that a lot of SQUAD team was leave. And what we have now? Almost no new info about future of KSP. A lot of mods abandoned because of KSP stagnation. No roadmap. And etc.

So if compare 2013 with now... seems KSP is dead, or at least at death's door.

We just had a major update and two smaller ones since. Development clearly continues, as is mod devlopment and maintenance. The user base has grown significantly and the game has been made available on consoles (the quality of the ports is a matter dor another discussion). Doesn't look too dead to me...

I want to know if you ever had landed near a moon arch with out knowing, because I did how about you?

Close-ish. I landed on a random point on Mün and zoomed out a lot to marvel at the munar surface when I suddenly spotted the arch right in front of me. I was still kilometres away, but still I found it real cool.

You seem to be new to KSP.

Thanks man. I just rapidly expelled a lot of mineral water through my nose onto the desk in front of me and my laptop, accompanied by a loud snorting/spluttering sound. In a meeting room full of people. Who then asked me whether everything was alright. Thanks for that.

No way to know. It's possible because his bug fixes are great, but at some point I stopped using them as the worst bugs they addressed were fixed in the game itself.

    That's probably it, though.

Helmet lights worked for me too and i never had claws bugfixes installed. Not in 1.1.3 anyway. Must be sthg else then.

Ok, cool. This makes me wonder how they got deleted now. I will believe you. I just wonder now why and how other posts were deleted, if no moderators touched it. Ideas?

All I can say is, I smell a rat, and I don't like it. I thought only the moderators could delete posts. The thought that others can delete posts as well is, frankly, frightening.

Can anyone help me figure out what's going on here?

You should look at the traxxas forums if this frightening to you. Now THAT'S censorship.

Yeah, kind of weird to leave all of a sudden when part overhauls and modding expansions seemed to be big parts of 1.2/1.3.

I think they will continue their (awesome) work as modders still. Leaving Squad != leaving KSP.

I don't mean to sound rude, but name one former dev who is still active on the forums or maintaining mods.

Yeah, I posted that before seeing this link to a possible dark side to this story.  If there is any truth in that, then what I said still holds, in a bit of different way.  The devs must have stayed with Squad long enough to complete 1.2 out of sheer love for KSP and the community, then seeing their job complete, collectively said "No more!" and departed.

Yes. Or - more likely - because their contracts wouldn't allow them to leave before completion.

Seriously, an entire team doesn't just stand up and leave out of the blue unless they are seriously urinated off by their employer... Especially people who have shown such dedication even prior to their employment (mods). But that's just my opinion.

    Wow, a release date.

That's some major change in product-sales-whatever-thing. Moar change to come?

Major releases were only communicated in advance. Like 1.0 and 1.1.

I think there comes a time when you feel your job is done and it's time to find new challenges elsewhere.  1.2 looks to be the culmination of a long process to make v1.0 what it should have been, and appears the group of devs who made it happen feel it's time to move on, and hand KSP off to a new generation (that would include Nightingale, who did not leave :) ).  The mass departure is shocking, but not entirely suprising.

I sure hope you are right. I for one, am less optimistic about all this...
