  2. Here is what I see in the tracking station with the rocket on the pad. I tried reinstalling RemoteTech, no change. Not sure if this in the tracking station is right or not. If something is messed up with my install, is there some particular mods, and a particular order I might reinstall them?
  3. Well, anyone mind giving me a hand? If so, thank you in advance. I wonder if I am really missing something. It doesn't appear so difficult to build and launch the second sounding rocket. I have an RCS, a Telemetry unit which has an antenna, electrical charge and all that which can be seen in Nathan Kell's tutorial video. I have the payload fairing with decoupler and no fairings. I set Stage 0 to hot launch so RCS, Aerobee main engine fires with booster. So only thing in Stage 1 is the decoupler. I can never get it to fire because the stage locks. I took a look through Mechjeb settings and thought I might need to enable the RCS 2 different RCS options but that made no difference. Is this a possible mod issue? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Mechjeb--no idea if that matters. Here is what things look like in the VAB: And here is after launch. The Krash editor lock will clear. But not the rest. Is there something I should have enabled and configured in Mechjeb?
  4. Copy that friends! Thank you very much! I reckon I am not watching Nathan Kell's tutorials closely enough and am missing the things you discussed. His tutorials are adequate for me or no? Because that was my intention. To go through all Nathan's tutorials in RP-0. For I am so not interested in the base game. I want a sim. I want to learn about real science, real rocketry and space. I see I missed that the Aerobee engine and booster must fire in the first stage as it has a "hot stage." What's a hot stage?
  5. Well I got [x] science installed now, but have a bigger issue. I can't do a boosted sounding rocket. Stage always locks after the first. I ensured my stages are set up properly.
  6. For the love of... I am on my second rocket and am getting nowhere as once I fire the first stage, the stage locks! I checked the debug menu and RTstaginglock, RTsas, and RT something else are on the lock list and wont clear. Any idea whats going on? Just a sounding rocket with booster and decoupler in between the two, plus a telemetry unit. I get an Avionics ok. Could this be caused by a game controller? I really don't understand what is going on. I tried Alt L to unlock after launch, but no change. I tried two different telemetry units. One I can never get an avionics ok. I am at a loss. 2nd time trying to do this stuff. Tried several years back. Now I'm trying again and following the tutorials, but I still can't get stuff to work. Please send help! :p

  9. I don't have [x] Science installed. So the science window pops up automatically? I haven't figured out what to do or press to get that UI to pop up in flight to collect data. I guess that is the piece I am missing. I didn't see [x]Science listed for RP-0. Maybe it was recommended by RP-0 or RO. I kept having issues with the sim crashing so I did without some of the recommended things. Will install now. Question still stands about that UI to collect science.
  10. I'm a total noob. Can someone tell me how to get the UI up to collect science? Only stuff I can find talks about doing an EVA with a Kerbal. I seen in tutorial 1 he didn't click anything but the menu popped up, so I am assuming he used a key binding.
  11. Thanks Hattivat. Got it. Now this RP-0 career mode... Totally not digging it right now. Posted in that thread. I think a massive tutorial for RO & RP-0 would be a the best thing ever. Concerned about the time spent building. Spent a lot of time building, haven't been enjoying it. After building its been nearly exclusive failures... Zero reward for the time investment.
  12. Looking for a little help here. Put the full shebang in. RO, RP-0 all the required content and recommended content. It's really feeling like a grind fest now. I like how the construction mod is warping time forward actually giving me a sense of days, but clicking back and forth from simulations and real launches and screw ups has become very tedious. Thinking about just replicating real missions with prebuilt rockets. But I digress. I have very little control over these sounding rockets, and I cant keep em pointed up. What's the build method for these things? Haven't found a way to keep the CG more forward for stability. Fins didn't seem to help at all. Using that very first sounding rocket motor. What am I doing wrong here? I'm spending a whole hell of a lot of time failing (I know, pretty realistic right? ) The tediousness of building in RO is really putting me off. Really hope its just a steep learning curve that will fall off. Almost to the point of abandoning career mode.
  13. Hey Hattivat, That fixed it. Needed the Remote Tech config file install. Thank you. So guys/gals does this look right? I've spent like 8 hours trying to get realism overhaul and all sorts of stuff working and trying to build a rocket following Ferrams tutorial https://github.com/NathanKell/RealSolarSystem/wiki/Ferram%27s-Launch-Vehicle-Tutorial The KER and MechJeb are confusing the heck out of me. When I put the booster separation into stage two by themselves it separates the TWR and Delta Vs. Is that right? Do I just need to add them together? Or should I put the radial separators in stage 1 until calculations/modifications are complete?   14. Hello Hattivat! Thanks for the reply. I'm very confident that is the issue. I don't remember if Remote Tech is installed, and I definitely didn't install a config file to add tracking stations near RSS sites. Forgot to say I used CKAN to install everything. I'll check on these things when I get home this evening. Thanks!
  15. Hello all. New to KSP and the realism overhaul. Having some trouble and I figured it would be good to post here since I have the RO mod installed. For the life of me I cannot figure out why I cannot launch a Stayputnik. I've read the tutorials and it seems really straight forward. Attach the unmanned command pod, add a battery and DP10 and the little non RO command board, fuel, rocket, and go. Not working. Engines will not fire. They fire fine with a manned command pod. What am I missing? Any help is great appreciated. Just spent like 2 hours building this rocket following Ferram's tutorial only to be unable to launch.
  16. I figured out my issue. I simply had to setup the stages and I got the dV data. However for the life of me I cannot figure out why I cannot launch a Stayputnik.   17. Could someone give me a hand? Very new with this. Following Ferrams guide to build a basic rocket. If I attach a Staysputnik to a fuel tank, then attach an engine, then fill the fuel tank with appropriate fuel, I will get dV from KER. But if I try to attach a fairing base as specified in the guide to the bottom of the Staysputnik then attach the stretchy tank to it, then engine, and fill, I do not get any dV. I have tried enable crossfeed but it makes no difference. I installed all recommended mods using CKAN, and am on 32 bit V .90.
