Pretty sure it's called Shadow Cascades or something similar.

Ladders around 90 degree bends
thes50 replied to Jokurr's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
You have to try and lessen the angle of the bend. It's really awkward and looks terrible. if you're building this on another Moon or Planet then i'd recommend just jumping or using RCS to get onto the roof. -
If a planet has an atmosphere moving through it will cause drag, this causes your craft to lose energy. This means the craft slows down, as you said the lowest stable orbit for Kerbin is 70km. This is the lowest altitude you can orbit at without passing through the atmosphere. If you lose enough energy your orbit will "collapse" causing your craft to hit the surface of the planet. In summary, if an object is in orbit and not passing through the atmosphere it will never de-orbit its self. You cannot simply fall to the surface.

Jumped Jebediah Kerman out of a ship that was about to hit the ground at about 30m/s. He survived and walked away from it like it wasn't even a problem.

Well done! How far did that craft roll? I don't think you applied the brakes to the wheels.

I can't believe i did it! - landed on the mun!
thes50 replied to RockyTV's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Ah leave him alone, everyone is allowed to be proud of their first mission, even if it did use a debug command. He still had to pilot it himself, using the infinite fuel command doesn't take away the fact that they still landed on the Mun without using autopilots such as MechJeb. -

thes50 replied to RockyTV's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Well done, try doing it without debug commands. If you're stuck try using the KerbalX, it has enough fuel to land on the Mun if flown efficiently. -
*shrugs* Someone has to. It's an important job.

I'd just like to take the time to prevent the further derailing of this thread. It's not a "bash the Xbox One" or a "discuss the Xbox One" thread. It's a joke thread that didn't turn out as intended.
-
*enters thread, reads OP* ... ... ... *leaves thread* But seriously, please no. EDIT: Oh right, it was meant to be sarcasm. Sarcasm on the internet is usually interpreted as stupidity unless it's painfully obvious.

http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/30559-20-And-mods Here you go.

Could lead to some great scenario packs. For example: "Hit the target at Kerbin from 5000m away". Someone has already left a challenge for Kerbal Bowling for me and HOCGaming. xD
-
I never leave a Kerbal behind, I always find some way for them to end their lives with dignity (usually by crashing into something).

Places to host craft files?
thes50 replied to DerekL1963's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Pretty much any file sharing site will do, I recommend Mediafire. http://www./ -
This has a feature to remove debris. http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/kerbaledit-take-control-of-your-ksp-data/

It's been said before, but it needs restating. I think there's more to this story than meets the eye. I've been making KSP videos for over a year now (rather successfully too) and I've never encountered a problem.
-
As I said, that one was a subjective suggestion rather than an objective improvement. I see things from the other side of things, as a video producer I think in terms of statistics rather than what people enjoy, I've always found shorter videos have a higher audience retention and are generally better received. xD

Anyone got some tips for getting to Mun and not exploding?
thes50 replied to OneRedBlock's topic in KSP1 Discussion
The Mun has no atmosphere, therefore parachutes won't work. The only places which do have atmospheres are Eve, Kerbin, Duna, Jool and Laythe. Parachutes will only work on these Planets/Moons. Using rockets to land make sure that you begin your trograde burn (to slow yourself down) early enough so that you're roughly 0m/s while within 100m-200m above the surface. If you leave it too late you run the risk of either crashing and destroying everything or crashing and only breaking a few things. Removing your speed too early can be inefficient and will waste fuel (as you're stopping at a higher altitude gravity is going to cause you to accelerate again). TL;DR: Parachutes won't work. Burn earlier to prevent crashing/broken lander legs. -
No problem, always nice to help out a member of both the KSP and YouTube community.

From the Kerbin to the Mun, return precise landing on Kerbin
thes50 replied to Pawelk198604's topic in KSP1 Discussion
You forgot the part about it only using basic orbiting maneuver technique.
