Have the exact same problem. Running no mods. System freezes completely when i try to rotate the camera in the VAB. Have htop, sensors and a tail -f of the KSP log running on second monitor. When freeze happens, everything freezes, and system is completely unresponsive, nothing out of the ordinary otherwise. Nothing out of the ordinary in any of my system logs either.
