About me
Spacecraft Engineer

Main difference it the role rather than mass or anything. light orbiters are designs that pretty much just enough to get into orbit and back down, while medium orbiters are designs with fuel for lots of orbital manoeuvres. Nice little design, how well does it glide?

Can I join the waiting list for missions. Wow even saying that is quite exciting, this looks like the largest community project yet.

Wow I think I\'m going to need a new category for the repository... the super-heavy lifters

[0.14x2][stock Mun lander] Momus MkI

That\'s odd it comes with fuel lines. Perhaps adding the extra lines just jogged things enough to stop the bug. -
[Stock-v0.14x4][Munlander] DI-050-Artemis

Thanks, there is a rocket with it, I\'ve yet to upload picture of it. The rocket is included in the larger of the two .craft files. -
Ah you can try using my stock rover design, I\'m quite proud of it. Not to mention it will add a lander module to the base. Only problem is that testing it in .14x2 it broke on the launchpad so a little modification will be needed to make it .14 compatible.

That\'s quite an elitism. If you bother to check out the stock repository you will be amazed at the variety of designs people have come up with using only stock parts, this Guardian design is particularly spectacular and will definitely going in the repository. If anything being limited by only stock parts is more of an engineering challenge than using any one of a million or more mod packs. That aside I have enjoyed using your Silisko edition pack. But stock ships can be downloaded no hassle by anyone and good designs are very much appreciated by new players trying to get into orbit or to the mun for the first time.

Darkside industries proudly present their latest and greatest lander design. The Artemis is based on DI\'s previous Quad tank design, but smaller with a reduction in weight and the introduction of landing legs. The DI-050L landing module has enough fuel to finish orbital insertion, complete TMI burn, munar entry burns, correction burns and enough fuel to land. After landing the minimal RCS is used to return home. This has the huge benefit of munar missions without any debris filling up kerbin\'s orbit. The module can be downloaded on it\'s own or comes with the DI-050 launch rocket to get the module out of the atmosphere. In addition the lander is light and powerful enough for practice on kearth (DI test pilots have landed the craft 10km away from the KSS). Final note: the lander module lacks ASAS, please regularly check attitude during burn phases to ensure craft remains in the correct direction. The Munar Skif, a Ker-Flow-Full light rocket design.

Do you have any tips on fuel efficiency? Especially for escaping the atomosphere and making a stable orbit. All my designs have been large and brutish just to ensure that there is more than enough fuel from TMI onwards. I\'m temped to design a couple of smaller munar crafts using the single RCS return design. -
Added, also renamed the creator to include the KFF followed by your profile name in brackets for your designs.

Well would it be trivial to copy an instance of a mission from one sfs to another?

[0.14x2][stock Mun lander] Momus MkI
Darkshadow replied to Kosmo-not's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Yeah it is what changed an annoying bug into an exciting challenge. EDIT: The same thing happened again. If I switch craft and back again. The Engine becomes greyed out and won\'t work. I\'m tempted to report the bug but I can\'t find any list of bugs to see if its been reported already. Kosmo do you get the same result if you try it? -
That\'s a good idea, how is the information encoded in the file?

[0.14x2][stock Mun lander] Momus MkI

Been trying to use your ship. Not used to using a gimbaled engine so the first couple of times I burned too late at Ap to achieve orbit. After I got it into orbit on the 3rd try, I managed to complete a TMI burn however as I was about to burn into munar orbit the engine failed (must have been some sort of bug as the tanks were still full) separating from the lander stage I use RCS to get out of the parabolic orbit and into orbit around the mun. Then Disaster strikes again and I leave the mun\'s sphere of influence and find myself in almost circular orbit around kearth. Luck would have it there was just enough fuel to drop velocity at Ap to drop Ag into kearth\'s atmosphere and I returned the crew safely. I will try again soon.
