  1. How are we to define an SSTO plane for this challenge? 1.) Only Stage once? (i.e. all engines activate at once) OR Just no decouple stages? 2.) Must all initial parts of the plane make it to orbit? (i.e. parts can't be destroyed via impact or thermal). 3.) Must the SSTO get into orbit (Single Stage To Orbit)? Just asking since the score is based on the Apoapsis. 4.) What is the definition of an SSTO plane? Anything that lifts off on the runway? Can it lift-off vertically or only horizontally? I ran some solid fuel trial runs. I don't think it's possible to get into orbit if all initial parts of the craft must make it to orbit. ISP is too low, best case delta-v is ≈3060m/s vacuum (Stayputnik + many S1 SRBs). I was able to get into orbit by losing parts due to thermal heating.
  2. First I went with a small build, but the desire to be first took over . . . Here is my second entry for this Challenge. 0 - 622m/s in 5s and barely stops on the runway. Yes, I spent way too much time on it . . . MkXII - Hard Mode, 622 m/s
  3. Yes, I'm just glad that my plane stayed together after a 45 minute flight to the bomb site.
  4. My best Hard mode so far . . . I was going for the smallest and fastest dragster. The Kerbal gets into a command seat and ditches the pod. Just brakes and drag to stop. 0-343m/s in 4s. Current Best: 343 m/s
  5. This is my first ever Challenge entry. Here is my Heavy Bomber, a B52 Replica I made last night. It took longer than an hour (1:22) for the round trip, but hauled 28 FLT400 Bombs. 27 FLT400 Bombs successfully deployed (high level bombing), 1 slammed into my own bomber. The bombs don't show on the flight results due to loading a quicksave. Initial Mass: 147,770kg, Landed Mass: 71,842kg. 27 FLT400 Bombs: 216 pts. Safety First (Face under 5 G-forces): 2 points (2.4g) Lowrider (Go close in between the mountains): 1 pts (see images) Score: 219 = (27*8) + 3 Bonus points.
