  1. It did have parachutes, but they disappears when the craft comes to a complete stop. 8 drogue chutes and 4 regular. Thanks for the update
  2. I know this is an old post, but I just found this challenge and wanted to enter with my jet car. I miss more record braking challenges in KSP. Standing on Runway ready for start Jet engines warming up with brakes on (This image is not from the same run. Just showing the engine warm up procedure) End of runway. All is intact and Jeb is looking Jebish. Top speed at 512m/s and 10.4 G I wanted this jet car to have wheels and be stable all the time.
  3. @maxwellsDemon: I don't think the orientation of the Mechjeb Unit matters. I make sure I have a "horizontal control point" (docking port, Probodobodyne or similar) and select control from here. This will orient the navball to the horizon. I sometimes install multiple docking ports in different directions, so I can switch control to the one giving me "correct" navball orientation.
  4. I did some testing. Not scientific, and I could be wrong about the results. I started with 0.06. And I had trouble with the mouse click straight away. Then I tried 0.03 and it felt better than the default 0.04. I played for 1½ hour and only had few issues with unresponsive mouse clicks. But it could be the same as default 0.04 because I did not test for as long as I usually play. The ram use went up to 4,7Gb, but was stable for the first hour below 4Gb.
  5. @Lumaan: I will try this tomorrow. I haven't got time to test tonight, because the behaviour kicks in after longer play sessions. @Roninpawn: I'm so glad not to be alone. Space is a big and empty place to be alone in. Nice video by the way! :)
  6. @Lumaan: Today after 2-3 hours of game time, I didn't see any high memory use. It kept below 3,6 Gb as far as I could see. The mouse click became unusable again though. I have to click maybe 10-15 times on a part, alternating between left and right mouse button, to get the right click menu to show. Is this a typical 64 bit issue?
  7. @Youen. Your utility made it really simple to go 64bit. Worked perfectly. I do see some glitches in 64bit. The space center building glitches. And after a while (hours) the mouse click stops working, both left and right. And then a crash to desktop. But I managed to see that KSP was using almost 12Gb ram. There must be a memory leak, because I start out with just under 3Gb used. How can I adress that leak? My 32 bit crashes every 20 min or so. Much better in 64bit.
  8. I found out it was the inline reaction wheels. Turning them off made the rover drive as on Kerbin. Sort of. Must have turned the reaction wheels off without knowing on my first landing. Thanks for the reply though. EDIT: Maybe it was a bug. Turning the inline reaction wheels off and on again solved the problem. Now the rover is stable regardless of the state of the reaction wheels.
  9. Just to make sure I understand: Should I always transmit science and then run the experiment again and store the data even when I plan to return to Kerbin?
  10. Little update after having landed the rover on the Mun again again. When I use Q and E I can make the rover turn. The wheels are not turning, but the rover does turn. Before the update I could use A and D and it was the wheels that made the rover turn. Q and E turns the rover regardless of stability assist (T) being on or off. I do have reaction wheels mounted near the center of the rover. When I drive the same rover on Kerbin, it is very stable and can turn easy and safe, also at speeds around 15 m/s. Going faster and making tighter turns will flip the rover.
  11. I have build a rover from stock parts, but also mechjeb and kerbal engineer. Before the 1.03 update I launched the rover to the Mun and it drove alright. Because of another mission fail I reverted to an early savegame and had to launch the rover again. But now it is uncontrollable. Its like driving on soap. No steering or mostly it turns in the wrong direction. No braking and so on. It can't even drive straight when not on 100% flat terrain. I have other mods installed but no other than the above mentioned is used in the rover build. I have tried to change steering, brake and motor configuration in different setup, but nothing helps. What is wrong?
