  1. If this is true, why did 4 goo experiments ran at the same time return 50, 11.5, 2.7, and 0.6 science?
  2. So the kerbal has to EVA and then collect the experiments from each device manually and bring them back to the pod? Every device? baro/thermo/goo/sci jr?
  3. No offense, but I think your computer can't handle it. I noticed on my quad core 2.66ghz (Intel Q9450) that I can't do full warp in certain situations or the rocket will just rip itself apart. What are you running? Also, go into your tracking station and 'recover' or 'destroy' a lot of those parts that are floating around eating up CPU resources. - - - Updated - - - Career is the shiz. You have to work with the equipment options and money available and then decide if you are going for money or science. You have to build economical ships with low tech to do what you need done. If I found this game in 'sandbox' mode, I would probably be done with it already. I enjoy having to create my own 'side missions' to collect science to gear up for the next major mission. I'm currently stoked on a mun/minimus flyby with 2 tourists that just happened but that would be meaningless if I was playing 'sandbox'.
  4. Which instruments/experiments need to be collected/transferred by an EVA Kerbal if the original devices/collection points will be ditched? So I just climb/jetpack over to the device and collect the data? Do I collect all of the data/experiments and dump it into my command pod for the return trip? Which ones cannot be collected/transferred?
  5. Cool. Thanks for the input! - - - Updated - - - I only accept contracts with long duration or ones that look important. There's a bunch of travel and rescue contracts available but I'm not experienced enough to do multiple stops and have no idea how to synchronize an orbit with something (someone) that's already in orbit. - - - Updated - - - BTW, it was probably the luckiest Mun/Minimus flyby ever. Two tourists wanted mun and minimus flybys. Direct launch brought me right by the mun that slingshot me past minimus with no fuel and then the return was aided by minimus gravity that brought me right back to kerbin with an easy entry.
  6. Do I need to manually transfer experiments from goo/thermometer/barometer/science jr to somewhere else if I'm not bringing the instruments back home with me? I keep building rockets that can reenter kerbin with everything attached, but it would be much easier if I knew how/where to transfer experiments without losing them.
  7. I just had to warp 25 days to get my mun/minimus flyby mission done and other science. I was on day 10-12 before. Is that going to hurt me or should I have been launching other missions in the meantime?
  8. I've read that multiple experiments can be done at each biome/situation so I started launching rockets and planes that carry 4 goos, 4 thermometers, 4 barometers, and 4 science Jr to make sure I get everything. Apparently, some of them are not repeatable. Here's the science outputs of my first flyby of minimus: (4 goo/thermo/baro, 1 science jr) (High above minimus) CrewReport 25 EVA40 Goo150 Goo211.5 Goo32.7 Goo40.6 Pressure160 Pressure2-4 0 Temp140 Temp2-4 0 MaterialStudy 125 Which experiments/EVAs/Surface Samples/Crew Reports are repeatable in the same biome/situation and which ones are only able to run once for a certain biome/situation?
  9. In some of my more unstable aeroplane and rocket designs, turning on time warp will cause instability or strange bugs. Outside rockets look disconnected/separated from the center and begin spinning until they eventually blow up but if you turn off time warp, they will return to normal form. Aeroplane will hold a steady heading and speed but time warp will cause it to fly off course.
  10. Any recommended add-ons / mods for newbies? I'm playing easy career, have the basic concepts of the game down, and have played most of the basic missions except pilot recovery and mun landing.
  11. I see that asteroid days is the "second official kerbal mod". What is the first official mod?
