  1. I like the idea of stuff like pre-flight checks, but I'm not sure it actually solves a problem. Does it actually lessen perceived negative effects, or just trade one type for another? Also, my EVA may be for some non-GAP purpose, like I was just trying to gather science, or I needed Bill to officiate a Drag Race, or whatever.
  2. Whether people revert or not, a crash on the way over to the island doesn't seem relevant to the contract. Crashes during/after the barnstorm are interesting, because safe landing both signals the end of the contract, and is an objective measure of successful barnstorming - you didn't hit the mountains behind the hanger. What about this idea? You could play "ATC" and have staging area / holding pattern waypoints to signal when a plane is intended for some of the contracts. To take barnstorming again, "ATC" might allow your stunt, but first you have to proceed to Waypoint X and receive clearance. Hitting that waypoint would identify the contract vessel. If you pick the waypoints well enough, there shouldn't be many people hitting them by accident. If they did hit it by accident, or didn't want to go through with the stunt, they could still always safely land and recover to free the tag (right)?
  3. Is there a reason that Barnstorming the first Hangar isn't the thing that attributes a craft to the contract? That seems like it would be the unique thing to that contract. Similarly for other "visit" contracts. The defining moment of the Helipad contract is to land on one of the helipads. Etc.
  4. I see! I run Kerbal Construction Time, so it's rare for me to immediately fly a contract. I typically have to accept a contract long before I have an aircraft built to contract specs. The exception is I have to plan ahead and keep SAR vehicles stored in the hangar for your Coast Guard missions, because of the short timers. I will have to think what I'm going to do about this...
  5. I just tried Island Barnstorming in an ultralight, but my barnstorms weren't accepted. I flew through Hangar #1 half a dozen times, but I couldn't get the waypoint to fire. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I looked at the contract code to try to track it down. The ultralight uses external command seat, has wings, and is only powered by a single Juno. A Pilot was flying the ultralight, I used their SAS on the flight over to the island. I definitely went through the hangar, and according to Waypoint Manager I got closer than 18m from the waypoint. I do have a question about maxAlt on the ReachState. Does that invalidate if you ever go over 154m? I was cruising at ~500m on the trip from KSC over to the Island. I eventually just landed and force completed the contract.
  6. I think a cut-and-paste error crept into one of the contracts. I am doing KSP-IslandLanding.cfg, but the Island Airfield Tower waypoint doesn't show up. I'm not a Contract Configurator expert, but I believe it's because "land at the KSC Island Airfield" parameter duplicates VesselParameterGroup from above, instead of being named the LandatIslandAirfield parameter. I checked an older version of this contract, and the parameter was LandatIslandAirfield as I would expect. In the WaypointGenerator, does "parameter" only control the visibility of the waypoint? In other words, could I still salvage this contract by planting the flag in the right spot blindly?
  7. Cool mod idea. I've been playing around with it, and the failure rate seems pretty high, though. Maybe that's intended, in which case fair enough, or maybe I am doing something wrong? I feel like I've hit 10,000du pretty early on with many of the early tier parts, and yet the batteries and fuel tanks only have 833 minutes MTBF. It feels like I am dealing with Apollo 13 style catastrophies on nearly every Mun trip, and there is nothing I can do about the parts that seem to have reached max reliability. I am beginning to feel like Minmus is a stretch, and can't even comprehend putting a anything on Duna. Is this the intended play mode? Have I broken the configuration (I used "Stock", since I don't play with RO) somehow? Is this a bug? Help!
