  1. Hello,

I just came back to wanting to play KSP :)

I used to play a lot on RSS and RP0, so I know about the game crashing if the amount of memory is not enough. I monitored the launch of the game but I had still 6GB of free memory when it crashed.

It might be because of outdated mod. I watched a video from Scott Manley where he is whowing how to install RSS (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0a6PLkDUWF4). You can see that when he launches the game, it tells him that 3 mods are outdated (same as me, except for KJR) but the main menu still shows. So I don't understand here what's going on.

The version I am playing on is 1.2.2 from GOG (Windows 7, 12GB RAM). I used CKAN to download and install the mods necessary for RSS.

    Reproduction :

The game crashes when all mods are loaded, just before the main menu.

On the launch of the game, 4 mods are said to be outdated

    - Kerbal Joint Reinforcement

    - SCANsat

    - Semi Saturable RW

    - Ven's Stock Revamp

I didn't tried to remove them as I want them on my modlist.

On their webpage, those mods are updated for 1.2, and their next release is for 1.3. I guess that is why it is considered to be outdated ?

    Logs :

Here is my log file https://www.dropbox.com/s/ilgdj43cnkdujxz/output_log.txt?dl=0

    And the error : https://www.dropbox.com/s/b4v6hvmay0610q0/error.log?dl=0

Thanks a lot for your help !

  2. Hello ! I had an "unexpected exception" with Contract configurator that came twice (not the same one).

I don't see anything that have changed, but i might have missed something.

It happend after I installed EVE / Scatterer / RVE manually.

here is the log when I first loaded the save :

Exception occured while loading contract parameter 'ReachState' in contract 'RP0.recordUncrewedAlt':

And here is the one when I entered the VAB

If I have more errors, I will edit this post.
    Thanks !

  3. Hello everyone and thank you for your awesome answers !

I was doing my correction at 90° / 270° from the latitude I wanted to be. That seemed to work. However, I really like when I am doing calculations to get perfectly to where I want to be. That is why I am not a big fan of the eyeball technique. But it shure works ! :) I am sure I can get a good prediction with KER.

I didn't knew the technique from Snark with the surface mod, I am quite excited to try this !

I will tell you if I manage to find a way to achieve this precision.

Thanks again and have fun with this amazing simulator !

  4. Hello !

I have to achieve a mission asking me to take a multi spectral image log above some place on Kerbin. So I am puting myself on the right orbit to be on top of that place. However, as every kerbal knows, Kerbin rotates so, by the time I get on the predicted place on the orbit, I won't be on top of the location anymore.

Is there a way to know how much do I need to compensate my orbit to be on top of the target location ? Maybe a mod or some calculations ?

Thank you for your help :)

  5. Hello

Thank you for your answers !

So I had a deep look into that, and I found precisely the parts that went wrong :

Only the Skipper and Mainsail engines make the voxels go nuts, and only if Ven's Stock Revamp mod is installed.

Now I am looking for a way to fix this, as those two engines are quite useful :)

Maybe with the Skipper.mu and Mainsail.mu files in Ven's Stock Revamp mod ?

    Thanks !

In the VAB/SPH FAR Menu there's an option to show voxels. Turn that on and see if they basically look right - bits that are ship should be voxels, bits that are not ship should not be. FAR just does drag based on the voxels it makes, which in turn are normally made based on the part colliders. The colliders should closely match the visible model for well-made parts, but sometimes there are considerable mismatches.

I can't really say if everything's looks fine. Here is some screenshots, do they look all right ?

    Thank you !

  7. Hello, I had a problem when playing with FAR :

Whenever I build a rocket, the Center of Lift is misplaced (or doesn't move at all). I tought it might be a visual bug, but when the rocket was launche, one could immediately see that the CoL was wrong.

I removed one by one the folders and it seems that the trouble comes from the engines.

Ven's Stock Part Revamp is an awesome mod, and so is FAR, so if I can help to bring this bug down, don't hesitate to tell me how :)

  8. Hello !

First thanks a lot for this mod, I wouldn't play without it :)

I have a problem with the Center of Lift, it does not show correctly in the VAB, and when I launch the vessel, I can clearly see that the CoL is on the top of the rocket (lots of wiggle, cant make it after 20km without breaking apart).

So I uninstalled FAR, launched again the game and now the CoL is working properly. Here is screenshots to illustrate my problem.

When I open FAR in the VAB, every value is at 0. The only thing that changes when I put the wings is the "Transonic design" data.

I tried to look for this problem on google and here on the forums, but can't find an answer.

Thanks for your help on this matter !

    Have a great sunday

  9. Thank you for your answers !

It is indeed from the Advanced Progression Contracts. I might have reverted, then tried another mission in the meantime with a new vessel. That might have confused the code of the contract.

I will post a link on the topic you mentioned.

For now, I will cancel the contract and re-accept it. I thought doing that would erase the contract for ever.

Thank you ! KSP is a better world with all you modders

  10. Hello !

I am stuck with a contract I can't seem to finish. Here is the contract :

    1zyjvar.png

I first tried to do it, then reverted because I lacked batteries (:sticktongue:). Then I tried it again, and it won't calculate the time remaining like it did the first time I launched.

Above is the contract on the tooltip. When I try to do it again, only the "Orbit" paragraph becomes green after I accomplish orbit above 70km. Even after I stayed on orbit for like 3 days...

Thanks you for your time and explanations :)
